Shure E2c Sound Isolating Earphones or Etymotic Research ER6i Isolator In-Ear Earphones

Etymotic has the best isolation of any IEM I tried, and ER6i sounds better than the really muddy E2c

Muddy bass means the bass is not well controlled and affect the mid and even the treble. It makes you feel like the bass takes central stage and all the detail is gone.

I was in exactly the same position, I got the 6i's and they are fantastic, really clear sound and very detailed without being analytical. I am sure they will get better the more I listen to them!
The bass is fine for me, there is not huge amounts of it but what there is is very accurate and detailed!

E2c were my first IEM, still have em, never listen to em. Middy, warm, hidden treble; nice enough but you never hear into the music, or even hear parts of it. Etymotic floor them with better SQ, clarity, imaging...absolutely no contest.
