HI: I have been using my grado SR-225 headphones fore my portable rig but they sound so great that they have won a place in my office home rig. Now to replace them with something that sound as good or near it and preferably much smalled. Enter the shure E2c. I have been reevaluating the E2c fore hours today. My portable rig is very small with my portable minidisc and headsave transit portable amp and with the shure E2c boy I now use my smallest shoulder bag to carry everything. LOL. This is great. OK I first put on KAREN CARPENTER minidisc that I recorded and the voice was right there in the front with great bass and good highs. I did put the minidisc tribal up one notch fore the E2c. The music was awesome and the E2c were very comfortable. I was going to buy the etys ER4p if this experiment failed but to my amazement the sound was just great. Maybe its the amp because I have the 2 9 volt batt wired in parallel to give me much more current fore low ohm-age cans. I will not be buying the etys. The E2c are doing a great job. Next I put on Pink Floyd Echoes a two CD set that I recorded on my minidisc and just went away into the Pink Floyd thing. Great bass and great mids with very good highs but best of all very fun to listen to. I mean comfortably numb guitar work was just take me away. The wall kept me spell bound. Echoes was just a lot of build up and had me by my as- and the peak just tore into me. These E2c are OK with me LOL.
