The difference is all in the packaging of the two "versions". One comes in a blister pack and the other (I believe) comes in a boxed version. There is no difference in the actual canalphones.
dijohn - we've had so many people asking about this lately. it's funny it seems like every other day, someone is asking about it. i guess a lot of people are interested in picking themselves up some shure canalphones.
seriously though, the only difference like people have been saying is the packaging. the earphones you will be getting will be identical with either the e2c or the e2.
for example, my e5c, came in an aluminum box, whereas the e5's just come in a plastic black box. you're really just paying extra for the box your product comes in. for the most part, it's not worth it. but if you're crazy, sometimes you even wanna pay for packaging...
