I recently got my e2c's replaced at the store where I bought them because of a glitch in the cable but the new pair I got doesn't have any wax guards on and I've run out of the ones I originally got. My question is what other people do with these earguards, do you spend $10 to get a new set from shures website? (I find it hard to justify spending that amount of money on tiny stickers) or do you just reuse old ones or are there any cheaper alternatives?

I used the E2c for quite awhile without the wax guards and never had a problem. But I was ordering some ultra soft tips from Shure, so I also ordered the waxguards.
I honestly don't think you'll have any problems if you check them occasionally for build-up. If you produce a lot of earwax (I don't) you may want to get some guards, though.

Email shure and ask them what the wax guards are like re: how do they keep out wax, what are tehy made of,etc. You probably have at least a 50/50 chance they will just send you some. Worked for me.
OR you could say their werent any included with your set and ask them if you could get some from them
