Shure E2 V Ety ER4p

Didn't you say the er-4p were better last week or the week before. I know your opinions change each week, I just don't understand why you sell the old product so quick. If you hang on to them, you still have that pair of headphones or amp to go back to when you decide you like it better than the newest product. It will also allow you to do direct comparisons.

I used your opinion of the Headsave Transit to go out and get it over the supermini. The next week you liked the supermini again over the Transit. I don't regret my decison to get the Transit because I still feel it is far superior to the supermini, I just find it funny how every week, your opinions changes. I wish I had the money to experiment as much as you. Good luck in your search.

LTUCCI1924, I agree with some of your points. However, Ety 4p sound quailty is much better then Shure E2, if I give Ety4p 10 out of 10, I will only give Shure E2 7.5 out of 10.

The 4P's sound great out of the box, but take much longer than any other headphones I'm familiar with to truly squeeze the last drop of break in out of. Patience is key.

Also, with the amount of shipping I bet you do, you probably could have owned both the E2's and the ER-4P's at normal cost, if you hadn't shipped everything you've ever had back and forth four times. Then, with the proper treatment that both the E2's and the Ety's deserve, maybe you would think differently about both of them, for better or worse.

Just a friendly thought.

Edit: The shipping thing, that takes into account all the things I've read about you returning over just the past month. It most definitely adds up to something worth saving, rather than throwing that money away on something as silly as shipping.

I don't own the E2's. However, I think it's generally accepted that the Etymotics have the isolation thing mastered, and the ER6's and E2's are both a good notch down the isolation scale.

HI: I liked the transit over V6. but V6.2c-d are way better than V6. Also I think that the ER4p sound better than the E2 but not enough to use them over the very comfortable and easy to use E2. I am not saying the E2 sound better they are just better to use and a real pleasure to use. In portable mood I get only so much sound and the E2 capture it very well and good enough for me. Yes I change my mind a lot and hope it is OK to do so. As far as shipping cost go I really don't care about that. I like to buy and sell stuff and enjoy doing that. I mean no harm to anyone. I mean not to mislead anyone. I am just enjoying my Hobie. Sorry if I offended anyone. iamdone this post was not all aimed at you just the beginning was the rest was for other members rather than doing several post.

I hope you know I didn't mean anything by my comments either. I am very happy with my amp. I've decided that my current setup works great for my needs and am done upgrading for a while. I know there are a lot better setups but there are also a lot worse setups. My goals now is to just enjoy the music and stop worrying if it could sound better or not. Now I am just concentrating on expanding my music collection.

Just for note: I am using a 20gig Ipod, ety ER-4P, 4Pto4S converter cable, and a maxed out Headsave Transit. I will probably upgrade my Ipod if they come out with a 40 to 60gig version. I guessing around Christmas time there will be one.

It's a shame Xin doesn't get involved here on a regular basis. He would be 'the man' for the ultimate DIY builds. I did some searching and I vaguely see he used to be on. What happened? Bad blood with META/PPA/Mint designers?

It is his board after all. There's no actual public service mandate on Head-Fi, even though it might not be profit generating.
So... Exactly what rule did Xin breach? Speaking ill of other products?
