I just ordered these for my E500s a couple days ago and I'm LOVING them! They are soft, ridiculously soft, almost like a pillow inserted right into your ear! I can hardly feel them, yet they sound so good.

If you have E500s and don't have the black foam sleeves, buy them! They are well worth the $15USD.

Softer and more comfortable. They're also the same shape as the flex sleeves while the yellow ones are cylinder shaped. The E530s come with them standard.

These are indeed great. My good friend Jasper994 got me a pair as a gift and man do I love 'em.

The great part is that they are washable so you can use them over and over again. I recommend them for anyone who owns the E500's.

I'm not sure if they will fit the E4C. I do know of people who put them on their Etys and westones though.

How are these different from the yellow foams that come with the Shures originally?

The yellow foam sleeves wear out very fast. I used them for a week, then after that they wouldn't expand anymore/discolored. Some have found the yellows to be too scratchy. However, they can provide a more secure fit because they are .55" in diameter where the medium black foams are .5 or so.

I think we had a big thread on this awhile back...

And, yes, they fit all Shure 'phones (they all have the same nozzle diameter), and they are tapered, so you don't need to roll them as much as the yellow foamies. Plus, one pair lasts a long, long time (I've gotten 6 months and counting out of my pair); repeated washing doesn't hurt them like the yellows.

Hoorah for the Black Foamies! They are by far the best tips for any IEMs that it fits--almost feels like a custom.

I wonder if some company can manufacture a material that is similar in feel but lasts much longer... I would definitely pay for that.

I've just got my set of Shure olives and tried them with the ER4S. IMO the tips completely ruin the Ety's sound signature. The trebles roll off, the bass deepens and gets artificial.
I had a similar issue with custom earmolds before (although their effect was opposite - the highs got shriller) and addressed the ER customer support with the problem. Their reply confirmed my experience - the IEM's frequency responce is affected by the length of the transducer's tubing. You can actually tune up the trebles of your Etys by trimming 1mm off the stock foamie. With the Shure tips being 2/3 the length of original Ety tubes the resulting tonal change is much more pronounced.

they fit all of them except the e2c/scl2, unless you mod them.

They're very comfortable especially in terms of long listenning experience.
