Dear members

I ordered and I am waiting for a new pair of 215s. After a lot of reading I am contemplating on wether to send them back and go for the 535s. However I'm not quite unsure as to wether this is a worthwhile decision. I am pairing my headphones via my udac 5. I listen to a lot of electronica, house, ambient, dark euphoria but I like strong vocals as well...I like my music to have a punchy and tight base and not loose rounded. I also like my mids clear and strong and not muffled....hopefully I am explaining myself well enough for someone to pitch in with some advice....These will be my first good pair of IEM....I have a high end home system (Apogge minigrands paired to acurus amps/pre with meridian cd player). The sound is great but its more of a reference system rather than what I want now...) Thanks

i own both both 535 and 215 , i don't think you will get the sound that you describe from the 215 , the 535s ( mine is LTD - j ) might be a lot closer to what you like .
you should try westone W30 - W40 -W60 out ( i personally hate the W50 , think they are too bassy )
i think the W40 will gives you exactly what you want!

I just received the 215s and have been trying them out. Its a little hard to pop them in but once in they are quite secure and have good isolation. I'm using the memory foam tips and after insertion they bulge out covering any gaps. Sound so far is good. I feel their is a little muddle in the centre however, soundstage is quite good also. Bass is a little overpowering at times. Overall quite pleased. However I would like something a little cleaner in the mids - will the 535s do this? will I loose a lot of bass as I have read? Overall is it worth the upgrade if I am listening just from my youtube player (with no time at the moment to find my personal playlists in higher resolutions)?

The SE535s should definitely have more clarity in the mids due to the multi-BA driver design.  I have the SE535LTD as well as the SE215LTD and there is a noticeably better separation and clarity in the 535s.

So I'm returning the 215s....I'm now between the 535s or the Westones W30s....I have read a lot one being more clinical vs more fun etc. Anyone care to pitch in with personal experience of both...
