After using the Elega heavily for the past few days they developed I kind of rattling sound if I moved around, so I assumed there was something loose in the left driver. I decided to finally try to open them. This is quite possibly the hardest headphones I ever had to get in due to the chrome plated steel ring that held the capsule in place.

As you can see in the photos, the rattling was caused by the magnet cover being unglued so some super glue fixed that. Unfortunately something I tried preventing happened. The solder leads on the driver was glued on with the magnet and as much as I tried to prevent it, one of the leads came off, taking with it the thin wire that ran to the coil. As such the only way to fix them now would be to try to get that more of the coil wire and solder it. From the looks of it I may need to take the membrane off the steel holding. I still have the 10k ohm and still trying to figure out how to get them running since nothing I have powers them.

Remained only with "Trimm Dependable" (the one with metal plate) sounds bad, dont know how to improve them
don't know if I ever buy new headphones pair, but this one is defenetly problematic one.

so dynamic technolegy is definitely better.

Right beside you, honey.
I think I've read somewhere that someone can change the bias voltage of Stax energizers to work with the Beyerdynamic ET1000. Does anyone know who can do that who's in the US?

I've had this ET1000 for a while now and have tested on a SRM-6/SB(?) from a buddy with a modded Koss extension cable, but noticed a lot of distortion especially in the bass.

Some of my 60's 70's German headphones
They are cheap & sound amazing, way way better than Orpheus or Stax or anything (I am sorry:zipper_mouth:)
Their headbands & ear cups are made by high quality leather (except the left one & the right one),same leather as a Mercedes seat, they last forever!

The speakers were made in 1962, they sound very good too, some videos:

Telefunken TH-60 graph.
Measured with miniDSP.
A correct seal was eventually achieved for this graph. All other graphs where a seal was not achieved had less bass than this.

The dip at 4kHz is typical with closed-back measurements, so that's going to be a little inaccurate.
Other than that, it might be difficult to see if there's anything wrong with the headphone.

Alternatively, it's hard to see where there is anything right!
