Not possible. There is a wall. I need 3cm, but only have 1 left on the right side. I needed to move the whole table not only monitor and stands. If I only would move these 3 things I'm off on my table
It's based on Ultimate's circuit. Nothing to do with pEar. Those are custom Silks according to Eric's specifications. Not available from SAC's off the shelf.
Yep, I knew they were custom E-Series (500V 12W) output transformers but was curious what model(s) they were based off of to run such a wide range of tubes that I have been seeing in the many pics you have been posting lately e.g. running KT170; 6AS7G; 6K6GT; and 6BL7 (the 6AS7G and 6BL7 are both very nice performing tubes when placed in the right circuit).
Probably some custom mix of the E-Series S-101 and S-502... or even perhaps S-305. Simply was super curious to know what the primary impedance and nominal DC is on those Silk output transformers... must be a wild design for sure!
Just ran across your posts in another thread answering this before... same output transformers as the UltimateE so 70 mA max, 13 watts, and an impedance of under 3.5K. Yeah, the Super Silks would be completely overkill for the UltimateE and even the UniversE especially for headphone use.
Use the same output transformers as UltimatE which caps at 70mA. Super Silk which caps at 90mA is double the price at $1000 a pair. I debated about using Super Silk and I don't think I will need the extra power. None of my power tubes need to be driven above 70mA including the KT170.
Eric ordered new power transformers for UniversE with taps of 200v, 240 and 300v working voltage. This will take care of the 6.3/12.6v drivers option without the need for an additional filament power supply. It will be as big as the power transformer used in the KT170 speaker amp.
What an iconic amp the Super Ultimate is, especially with the Silk transformers. SAC Thailand custom made those transformers for Eric according to his specifications. You can't buy that from their existing stock. That Silk output transformer is good for 13 watts and 70 mA. The Super Silk will go up to 20 watts.
Well sir, you don't have an "ultimate" but rather certainly do have a "universal" tube rolling amp on your hands there! There are some really assume tubes and tube combinations that you can run on that monster. Good luck and have lots of fun!
The real difference is this: after listening to Captain and Tenille, you go on living.
PS: In all fairness, Toni Tenille had great pipes. I heard her sing a few times w/other singers, real ones, and she belonged in that mix. In another era, singing the great American songbook backed up by good arrangements, she would have killed (and not with electricity).
