Our new puppy...............purebred Golden Retriever 11 weeks old named Geddy Lee. We had to put down our 15 year old Golden 6 months ago and finally felt it was time to bring another 4 legged buddy into our lives.

Apologies, as I know this thread appears to be current times with our best friends, but just a couple days ago, I had to say goodbye to mine and I am still very emotional about it. The last 6 months were rough, him having health issues, and me knowing the time for his departure would come soon. Knowing for that long didn't make it any easier when I had to make the ultimate decision only about 50 hours ago.

You knew you were loved old friend, and I knew I was loved in return.

Here he is 6 years ago as a 6+ year old with his summer haircut. What a good boy. I know things will get better, and I'll keep thinking of all the fun times and adventures we had together.

I feel your pain man, what a cute lookin dog! I lost 8 dogs in my lifetime, the last one (Slava) last februari, very sudden at age 6.5, it always hurts..but what can you do, not having a dog is not an option for me. I tried a few months and hated every minute of it

Like you said, cherish the good memories and time might eat its own children, but it also tends to soften the hurt..

all the best, Robbert.
