Should I try to fix this or just buy a new pair?

I've never soldered anything before and I don't own an iron. Are there even soldering irons small enough for this job? Does anyone know any good deals, any place where I can have this done, or a good place to buy an iron?

This is quite easy to fix for anyone who's used an iron a couple of times.

And yes, there are irons that can solder stuff a fraction of this size

Your profile doesn't say where you live, so you're gonna have to search yourself... If there's an Hackerspace close to where you live, I'm sure someone there will have the skill and will to fix that up for you. http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/List_of_Hacker_Spaces

Thanks a lot! I live Massachusetts USA, a pretty good amount of search results came up. Do you know any off the top of your head? If not I'll probably contact them first and ask.
