I'm definitely digging IEMs. However, my E3c's lack of low bass (the inaudible region--what I can hear is fine, but there's no toe-tapping low-end) has really been annoying when using them portably, and the cable is unweildy in the cold (the carrying case doesn't help, either, for that). With the mids so refined using the Supermini-3 (it has lost the 'hard' sound in the mids, which is actually a good thing), it is now too glaringly obvious to ignore.

Has anyone heard the UM1 and E3c, and if so, do the UM1s have significantly lower bass? I can't find much on them, but what I have found is promising, both in bass and cabling. Clearly, the UM2's got the bass, but I simply cannot afford it.

The UM1s have significantly more bass but not much lower. It is about the same in terms of depth. But i might be wrong cos i've demoed my friend's E3 only. For sure it have much more bass.

How about E4?

I was afraid of that.

Amount of bass isn't a problem, but I'm missing the feeling of the pressure wave in my ear of the low bass.

Right now, I would need to keep the net cost under $50, which should be possible, with selling the E3c. I guess I'll wait until I can up and buy the E4, Super.fi 5Pro, or UM2.
