Should I send them back or fix them myself?

So, I bought from Penon a pair of Hifiman RE400b in december. A few days ago I noticed that the plastic on the right tip detached from the metal casing (as you can see in the pic attached).

Now, Penon gently offered to fix it on warranty if I send it back. But that would mean spending a few bucks to ship it and having to wait at least a month and a half to have them back.
The alternative would be fixing them myself with some superglue. The cables seem to be working just fine so I'm just wondering if it is as easy as it seems or I'd better send it back anyway.
