I'm currently listening to Sportapros powered by an iPod Shuffle and listening to mostly alternative rock. The Sportapros are pretty good when I'm in the office but when I'm commuting on the bus the lack of isolation can be annoying. So I'm looking for something that will provide at least some isolation and I'm not looking to spend more then I paid for the mp3 player. I don't want earphones. Also, I'm in Canada but I can ship things to the other side of the border, less then an hour away, and pick them up there.

I've been thinking about getting the V66's from Audio Cubes since I can get them shipped directly to me but I'm wondering if I will notice a significant difference with the Eggos over the Sportapros in a, somewhat, noisy environment? Or is there something else I should be looking at instead?

I like the idea of getting something that is only available in Japan, but I also want an improvement in sound if I get a pair.

Less then $150 US. But preferably less then $100.

When I listen to Sirius satellite radio the stations I listen to are Alt Nation and Left of Center. My MP3 collection reflects those musical tastes.

NOTE: If you are a bass lover, the D66 might not be for you. Its not bass-light (as recent posts in other threads suggest) but its just there (I know...not very articulate).

the d66 only block off a few decibel of noises, it does help a bit. the d66 is not good if you like the current koss sound and bass impact for rock because of its very light bass. but i guess the next person is going to post about mods that can be done to exagerate its bass amount.

good sounding closed overhead portables are very fews. also consider px200 (discomfort for big ears) and audio technica fc7 (discomfort for small ears).

actaully if you can stretch your budget a bit you should do a saerch on the senn hd25 (not hd25sp).

I gota throw out a vote for the 280's. they dont have the biggest bass hits out there (un-EQ'd that is) but their bass extention is phenominal. Comfort and SQ only get better out of box so if you can find a display model or seasoned model to demo that would be best. If you have any questions about the 280's go ahead and ask but for now i'll asume you know a bit about them and have done a little research on them yourself.
