Im upgrading my Sony cans now and Im not sure what to go for.
I need them for First Person Shooter gaming. Im also listning to 80´s hitlist music and some Scooter, maybe some Elvis aswell. I guess its good if I can use them on long flight trips and when Im on vacation, just how portable are those 931´s?
I have a Creative AUDIGY 2 card.

I dont have an amp and Im not sure if I want one either.. Could it be worth it? I guess thos 931´s needs an amp, if so, which one would be ok and how much would the that amp cost me?

I dont know which one to choose, please help me! The FPS gaming performance is the most important.

Get the 250-80's.

They can be used portably, without an amp, and scale decently with an amp if you get one eventually. They are closed, and offer some isolation, as well.

The 931's definitely require an amp, and one with a 120ohm output jack, preferably. They are also an open design.

Go for the DT250-250. They sound much better than than the 80 ohm version, and they really aren't much harder to drive.

The 931 are open. The 831 is a closed can with similar character and identical dimensions to the 931.
