Should I get a Zune?`

@battleMAUS: there are rumored to be 2 new zunes. One will be an updated HDD model, while the other will be flash.

@Rossy: I like the sound of the X5 more than the Zune, but the Zune still has good sound.

@Clincher: with those, I doubt the difference would be TOO drastic. As far as waiting for the new Zune, it depends on how much you need a new player. If you are in no hurry, wait for a few months, and see what players are rolled out before the holidays. If you need a player soon, the Zune will be fine.

I heard that if you don't have good picture quality on pictures they will look bad, how do I know if a picture is good quality and is there some sort of program to make pictures better quality?

^^where did you read that ? Zune screen is 320x240. If your pictures are below that resolution, they already are BAD !!! (unless 32x32 icons you want to use)

I have some StarCraft 2 1600 x 1600 wallpapers on my zune (Protoss Zealot). Converted to the resolution the zune can manage.

Just got mine today. HP out SQ is amazing, of course included earbuds is nothing to write home about but with JBL220 it really sings. Never expected so much fun out of portable.

Ok. So when in playing mode and the album art is in the backround, does it do that automatically or do you have to find all of the individual pictures?

The Zune software search for all the missing Album Art pictures on your music library. It works almost all the time unless you use some obscure albums.

The screen of the Zune is just right. Not too small, which is why I chose the Zune over the Zen Vision:M. I ripped Family Guy and loaded it on the Zune, and I enjoy watching episodes on it. Your hand gets a bit tired sometimes holding the Zune though...

Ok, I heard it doesn't normalize the songs, does it make that big of a difference? Like would songs that were taken from the same cd have different sound levels?

I saw that too... Im probably gonna have to jump on that. Does this price apply to the stores also? Or is it just a web only thing?

I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm going to be moving over to the Zune and a set of IEM's for portable use. I much prefer the look of the zune over the ipod and i really hate itunes. I have to rip music and movies for my mom on my computer using itunes and it really just disagrees with me.

Think i may be joining you on buying a Zune. I have a feeling that the June 1st announcement of new Zunes isn't coming, and with talk of a more exciting line-up coming at Christmas; i simply can't last that long with an MP3 player with practically no battery.

Now i just need to decide on the colour really, might go with the pink...

*sucks living in the UK and knowing the least i can get it for is about $270!

BestBuy's web prices don't always match their store's, so I'd be wary. Last week I pricematched from a Circuit City newspaper ad and it was painless enough
