the HD555 is lacking in bass and I do not like software EQ it sounds muddy.

I hear these Fiio doubles the entire bass response under 500hz.

I will be using this home on a Asus Xonar DX as I am trading back my Audigy 2 ZS for the Asus.

Put it the Audigy has driver issues with vista. Apart from that the audigy has a bass and treble balance slider which sounds fantastic no matter how high u raise it unlike crappy EQ that sounds muddy.

My HD555 is lacking a powerful bass slam heck I was told these headphones were not even designed for music so now I really hate Sennheiser. I should of listened to you guys and not buy this piece of garbage.

Will the FiiO E3 do some bass wonders for me?

The E3 sounds surprisingly good with the HD600, which are measured to have a stronger bass response than the HD555. The FiiO folks have managed to enhance the bass without the usual "cheesy" EQ'd sound. The overall SQ from the E3 is quite good - preferred by me to that from amps costing from 5 - 25 times the price. Based on what you post that you are looking for, it's worth a try.
