Should any USB wireless adapter (thumbdrive) work with Airport Express?

Should any 802.11b or 802.11g USB wireless adapter (especially those tiny thumbdrive ones) work properly with an Airport Express for streaming iTunes remotely from a Windows XP Home computer?

How is the range and security of these thumbdrives vs. external boxes with dedicated antennas?

Also, anybody know anything about these Netgear thumbdrive wireless adapters?:

Theoretically, yes.

However, I've seen (many times) people buy the cheapest (in every sense of the word) wireless adapter, only to find it didn't work correctly with their router.
