I am paranoid about Panasonic reliability after a bad home DVD player.

I'm guessing about three years or more and it's gotten a lot of use since I use it as my player at work. It's got a pretty nice DAC for a portable. I wouldn't confuse it with my Meridian, but for music at work it's fine. I have the add on battery pack and since I use the screen at low brightness settings most of the time, I have watched up to 10 hours of movies on a single charge. This is higher than they rate it for and I still had enough juice for some CDs. With the basic battery pack it gets about 2 to 2 1/2 hours of run time for me, enough for a single movie but not enough for two. No problems to speak of so far!
