does anyone know where i could find this manual in English

Have you tried downloading it from the Sharp website. Almost all big electronics manufactures have their product manuals onlline and you can download them for free.

Say, good idea.. You would be after the DR470, DR480 manual though (same as DR7, except the DR7 is Japanese, so an online manual isn't very helpful!).

Unlike Sony Japan, Sharp Japan doesn't make manuals available online.

Hmm, because the unit is a domestic Japanese one?

Better to completely explain the Japanese model features in Japanese and not waste time/paper on a detailed english section.. especially when releasing a european version sometime later.

Besides, the 15 pages are in small font, and are very concise. The Japanese part contains many diagrams..
