Shanling M8 Android Portable player

Question about the eq function on the shanling music player, I was tinkering with the settings for fun then decided to put the setting back to flat and turn the equalizer off. Too my surprise I was blasted with sound that was at least twice as loud. My ears are fine but it scared me like hell:sweat_smile: Is there some type of filter or loudness correction with the equalizer on opposed to off? Im having trouble discerning between the settings other than just cutting the sound in half.

Yes, there is gain adjustment anytime you turn on EQ.

I just did listen to the wm1z and M8...

My friend left he said he prefers the 3 daps in this order 1z then p6 pro then m8.

I have a different opinion and p6 pro is third in my list lol but I won't say who the #1 yet as I am kinda still figuring it out and I have to say 1z slapped me in tha face lol
So I am under a shock and coming back to reality right now.

When EQ is on, the volume is lessened therefore avoiding clipping. Furthermore, if you increased the volume under these circumstances, you will likely blast your ears if you ... well... anyhow you found out the hard way. You live another day at least. (friends don't let friends die by EQ)

Well you've had the 1z for long, yet somehow the M8 brought the music back like the 1z. It seems the 1z is hard act to follow, props to @Shanling for aiming for the moon and skies.

Yes the 1Z from memory (I had it 3 times) is still a top performer, but M8 has a musical carácter too and is extremely more powerfull

I am starting to think I'll just aim for easy to drive headphones to pair with the Sony. It's just thick and syrupy, which I like.
