how to enable M6 as usb dac for Windows? Plugged the M6 to PC using USB cable, there only 4 options from the pull down menu: charge this device/Transfer Files/ Transfer Files (PTP)/ Use device as MIDI, even I chose to use M6 as midi, I can't choose the audio output options in windows as using M6, any settings need to enable beforehand ?

Swipe down to get to quick access menu and there you will see "Storage" icon. Click on it and it will change into "USB DAC".

I will update the M6 guide on our website this week, need to add there some of these recent changes.

Waiting for gapless in the Shanling Music app...

so I have this problem that Spotify has random stop during playback, tried factory reset, upgrade to latest fw, changed the SD card (tried 3 cards), I guess the last resort is to go RMA?

Do you have similar issue with any other streaming services? And did you reach out customer service of Spotify?

I have loaded some DSD to the shanling app V 3.1, latest, sound quality is nothing like I used to experience with old Opp BDP 103, but it died, since then I have not had a good sound quality reference using DSD (or SACD); when I my Oppo died, I purchased the Yggdrasil which is not DSD capable, so I play my SACD ISO from Jriver but convert them to PCM, 24b, 352khz, very good sound, top notch.

I was hopping this shanling app would bring life to DSD/SACD, not there yet. Again, tried the Hiby app, but sound is awkward. May be the whole DSD is just a marketing gimme.
I wish I could perform A-B. OPPO Vs Yggi.... not possible, but from memory, the OPPO sounded just like the Chord Hugo, which I demoed several times. The Hugo was twice the price of Yggi.. very happy with the Yggi tough.

We´ll see what new versions bring, meanwhile, very happy with my FLAC and even some lossy files... sound is amazing with the FH7. and I may be pulling the trigger in andromeda IEMs....

Hello, Shanling!
After updating to firmware V3.0 there appeared clicks when changing songs. Didn't notice them on firmware V2.8. They are much stronger on balanced output.
On V2.8 such a click appeared only about a minute after turning off the music.
Using only the Shanling Music app.

I have a problem with .cue files. The shanling music player cannot read the file correctly, the list of songs is mixed up. Why it doesn't work properly? every other player loads my song list as it should be and the basic program has a problem with it. Why shanling? can't you fix it?

I have the same problem with the Shanling app and posted here earlier about it.
If you go through the Album section the songs are lined up in alphabetical order.
Instead go through the Folder section till you get to your cue file. Select it to be played and it will then start to play back in the correct order.
I also have the bought app UAPP which will play cue files correctly through the Album section.
Hope this helps?

We got some reports of this and are looking into this.

I'm sorry, our app is lacking in some aspects behind other more mature apps and software team continues work on fixing any issues and adding more features.
At current time .cue files shows up in correct order in folder browsing menu.

hi all. The control wheel does not respond while screen is off, a bit annoying having to wake up the screen (double tap, nice feature) then control volume with wheel or on-screen dial.

I remember previous versions I could change volume, any different experience?

You can also check the key-lock settings, that's only place where you can disable the volume wheel.

If I'm playing from M6 with USB cable to external DAC with USB audio player pro (bit perfect), then it should be no sound colouration from M6, right?
Then why the sound tuning is different when playing the same file (FLAC) from windows (foobar, ASIO driver) to the same external DAC and the same headphones?
Thanks
