Shanling M6 Player - New version with ESS DACs coming soon

2 chinese and 2 international on there by same seller.

We always recommend to stick with your official local distributor and their dealers. It's especially important for M6 due to differences in versions.

Random seller on ebay that is listed as being in UK(while not being our official seller) is definitely something we wouldn't recommend.

thanks Nayparm, glad to hear there are options to play ISO DST, converting this files to DSF would be very time consuming and file size would become a problem too. Still I prefer to use the stock player and hopefully soon Shanling will add this capability.

Just got mine today but haven't had much time with it because it arrived late in the day, and I'm out supporting my son who's singing at a jazz bar tonight. What I did experience was pretty smooth from both UI and sound signature standpoints.

I unboxed, updated, scanned my SD card, installed a few apps, and started listening. Easy-peasy!

It's a smaller footprint than my phone (OnePlus 7T) but roughly twice as thick. Definitely needs a case with glass front and back. Unless I'm missing something, I'm bit disappointed that screen protectors weren't pre-installed. That would be an easy thing to do to make a better customer experience.

Will report back later as I get to know the DAP...

hi all. the international version is available now in the US. As I´m ready to pull the trigger, have a couple of questions maybe someone can commnet:

1. I read somewhere this M6 produces a "velvet Sound" which is also advertise for the Fiio M11 Pro. Wonder if any one can comment what this means, not familiar with this.
2. how difficult is to install Neutron or other apps? can you install any app from the google store in the intl version?

thanks.

"Velvet sound" is marketing term for AKM dac chips family. Advertised as perfect NATURAL sound representation. In actual implementation means nothing because sound signature builds from comlex chain of dac+amps+LPF.

Ah !! Just received my M6 but didn't see the last message until now and I was quite puzzled by not seeing the playstore already installed. I managed to install it and now I am updating my unit. Of course finding the right app to open for the ota update took me 5 minutes. So bottom line, look at the link provided above, everything is well explained so you won't waste time looking for things.
@Shanling, is there a way to get the navigation keys on the bottom? I don't like gesture control and I would prefer having the keys. Thanks

Need to add it it product page, to make it easier to find.

Currently it's only gestures/floaty, but will probably change it in future firmware.
