@Shanling my front glass in shanling broke after falling. Is replacement possible?
I have consciously bought this product with its disadvantages. But the fall was from only 20cm and because of its slippage. No matter what can you do now?

I did an OTA update from 3.0 to 3.4. The update went fine. But oops! What the heck is up with the EQ? When I turn it on, the volume drops by half and sounds dark and congested. And you can EQ up to the sky’s but you need to raise the volume way up to hear and it still sounds awful. And if you turn EQ off, the volume returns to normal and Blasts your ears out. This EQ is not just broken but is DANGEROUS. Shanling needs to reverse this EQ “update” immediately before REAL DAMAGE is done to someone’s hearing!

Will somebody please explain Replay Gain? If I turn it on for Track the volume drops to half and sounds dead like the EQ. If I choose Album the volume returns to normal. Is this broken as well. I love my Shanling products. But 3.4 seems a big downgrade.

I dropped down to 3.3. EQ working as before but with a nice display of db’s as you move the a column up and down.

Thanks for the update and continuous improvement to the software. I just hope future new players from Shanling use the same MTouch system so new features are not abandon as they happen with most players as time goes on.

I like the new features but I have a question regarding to the cover art.
It appears that you can pick out cover art which is nice but It seems like its track specific and not globally album specific.

1. Is there a way to apply the cover to the entire album.
2. When the cover is attached to a tack is it a file that is embedded and if so if I switch brands to a different player in the future will the cover art transfer over.

We added this cover art function to see how it will be working, there should be future adjustments to this function.

@Shanling last night i've been listening to my M5S with new 3.4 Firmware. Im not the kind of guy who hates change and always open to any new change in trend, in fact i've never been downgrade my gadget firmware in my whole life either it is smart phone or even player. However with the current updates i'll have to sadly downgrade the firmware for the first time in my life. the thing is, the new EQ system although it solve the distortion problem due to extreme EQ setup, it also altered the sound and reduce the volume around 20%. i could still close my eyes using my setup at 70% volume and gradually heated device because of high volume use, what i can't tolerate is the sound feels smoothed thus makes the sound less physical. it's really sad actually, i do really love every other updates other than the EQ system especially the threshold for lowest brightest because i like to use my player during the dark.

The most ironical thing is im one of the active members who push Shanling to fix their EQ system, now after they actually do something about the EQ after a year, i just dont like their solution to EQ. I do really sorry, but I really wish the EQ system could get better. I mean this player is more expensive than my monthly wage lol.. that's why it really mean something to me

With EQ, sorry for this, need to look into it. Apparently software team was trying to fix distortions when used high levels of EQ and meanwhile messed it up in different way.

Looking into these problems. Can you check, if any of your files don't have some preset ReplayGain that's messing this up?

Here's another one that has to revert the firmware.
But first things first. I want to thank you @Shanling for continuing to invest time and effort to support this device. I have loved it since my first day with it and my fondness for this device has caused me to pick up an UP2 and soon to be an UP4.
SInce the very begining, the only issue I've had with the M5s has been the EQ - and I've always found a way to make it work, coming up with 3 Custom EQ Settings: #1 for the car, #2 for Xelento IEM and #3 for Tin P1. So from that perspective, everything has worked fine. Not optimal, but workable. I think the issues with the new EQ are well documented now and you have acknowledged, so I dont need to write further here. I Love the new playlist import and export functions - well done on those.
BUT, I'd like to clairify what the update / firmware history has been. I will downgrade until the new EQ issues are addressed but if the current FW is 3.4, what is the previous version, 3.3? If so, I can only find 3.1 and earlier on the download page.
Please @Shanling confirm the most recent FW version and if it's higher than 3.1, please add it to the download page so we can download and instal until 3.5 is available. Thanks!
