Only use properly balanced cabled headphones with balanced output of DAP. Using such adapters to single ended 3.5mm can only risk damaging the headphones or DAP.
To be honest, I saw many Chinese vendors offering online all random cables, not caring at all that the combination they sell is impossible and can damage the connected devices. When 4.4mm was just starting, so many vendors started selling 4.4mm cables for headphones with only Single ended input and people were happily buying it
When you get first device with output that's new to you, always best to ask on forum or message the manufacturer.
Yes, and will do. Lesson learned. Thanks again. Am happy with my m3x and will buy a 4.4 cable instead.

How do you do that? Been looking everywhere in the settings and cannot find OTA update at all. DX160 is really clear but this one not so muchYou can also update it OTA. I did today worked flawlessly for me.

Early impressions vs DX160 are that the 160 is considerably louder at the same volume, and has a slightly warmer sound (though that could be in part to break in hours). Really pulling for the M3X having the advertised battery life, otherwise the DX160 would have been all I needed in this price range. The M3X is slightly smaller but not hugely so. DX160 runs a fair bit warmer though, especially when in a pocket (which for me is where a portable dap will spend a deal of time).
Spent a bit of time with each downloading from amazon HD for offline listening. Find that neither is that efficient or speedy at doing this, and both ran warm whilst doing so.
Also found that both suffer glitches streaming when you try and use the unit for anything else.
Overall I'm thinking I may have dropped the money on the M3X for no real gains over the dx160, but it is still a good unit for the cost.

Hi! If I use dual DAC on the 3.5mm, does it still have dual mono or what you may call it like one dac per channel? Or is it only applicable on the balanced 4.3mm? Thanks!
Dual DAC mode is effective only when suing 3.5mm output. In this mode, both DACs are used, you can say that one for each channel.Hi! If I use dual DAC on the 3.5mm, does it still have dual mono or what you may call it like one dac per channel? Or is it only applicable on the balanced 4.3mm? Thanks!
With 4.4mm output, both DACs are working at default.

What about the soundstage of DX160 compared to M3X? I find them pretty similar, both quite wide with good clarity. The dx160 maybe edges it slightly but again that could be due to it being nicely run in now, and my ears being attuned to it at the moment. They're both excellent DAPs, but the battery life was frustrating me with the dxWhat about the soundstage of DX160 compared to M3X? Better or similar?
