Are there plans for the 15,000 file limit to be raised? I am considering purchasing the M3S but use mostly MP3s and already have over 14,400 files on my 200 gb card, That doesn't leave me much room for expansion, And i usually use "shuffle all" when i take my walk and would like to have access to all of my music in that situation.

Please can anybody show me how to use Shanling M3s as DAC with iPhone ? Thanks in advance :) (Sorry for my bad English)

Unfortunately M3s doesn't work as DAC with phone over USB. You can connect it with bluetooth, just go to BT settings of M3s and pair it with your phone.

We got this request from multiple users, it's on our list and I hope it can be changed in future firmware update.

Hi, what's the lineout level output?

Hey guys - looking for some purchase advice on my portable setup. I currently am using my Galaxy S6 with the Oppo HA-2SE, lossless FLAC via Foobar Android app. However, I have an issue with the S6 micro USB connection being loose; the slightest wiggle of the cable disconnects the amp, which makes listening on the go near impossible and INFURIATING.

So, I think I need a change. I am new to the DAP market, the M3S is an intriguing choice seeing as I have no interest in streaming, it is sleek, compact, and by all accounts sounds great. My portable phones are the Etymotic ER4XR and Sennheiser Amperior, although I'd probably use it with my larger Senns around the house (HD580, HD650, HD660S...yes, I am a fanboy).

Does this sound like a good choice for my needs? And can anyone give insight as to how the sound quality of the M3S would compare to the output of say, the LG V20 or LG V30? I appreciate it! (and yes, before anyone asks, I have searched this thread and the rest of Head-Fi for comparisons to both of those phones, as well as the Oppo HA-2SE)

The M3S is a neutral to a little north of neutral. I have seen others mention it is warm, my ears don't hear it that way. It excels in clarity and transparency and it will power the HD650. I enjoy the M3S very much. I have the V30 and sound wise there are some similarities. If I am streaming I use the V30.

Thanks for your input! I appreciate it. Does the M3S have an edge over the V30 sonically, vice-versa, or too close to tell?

Tell me, how is your experience of using M3s as DAC/AMP with Android phones?

Here we have my Honor 9(great phone BTW), with Stellio player, connected to M3s with USB C to USB C OTG cable we used with Shanling UP. Playing OPUS files :)

Got my Shanling M3S yesterday. I really like the form factor and convenience of the DAP. Setup was a breeze and UI is very intuitive. Sound wise, it is less detailed and has a more narrow soundstage than my Oppo HA-2SE, but overall still very pleasing. I'm having a hard time getting over the scroll wheel though. The tactile feedback on it feels very...cheap. When scrolling slowly, the selection is changed out of sync with the feedback. It will sometimes move twice for a single click as well. Is this issue specific to my unit, or does this just take some getting used to?

The two-clicks per click is just the way it seems to work.
I can't remember whether @Shanling has indicated that the scrolling of the wheel can, or will, be tweaked in a Firmware update.

That's just how they are.
