@Shanling Any of your devices transmit from 3.5mm input? Will you ever add optical/3.5mm input for transmitting in the future? What are all the devices that transmits, and what is the highest bitrate codec in transmitting mode?

It doesn't work since you are following tutorial for completely different function.

To get M2X connected to your computer and to play music from Foobar over Wi-Fi:

Make sure devices are connected to same wifi and that DLNA is turned on in setting of M2X.

Install UPnP MediaRendered Output to your foobar

Choose "UPnP: Shanling M2X" from list of output devices, as you can see on this picture:

Now just start music and you should hear your sweet music.
Ok. I got it. But when i send music via foobar to the Shanling don't appear the title and artist. Only displays in screen: foobar2000 audio stream.

Is it any chance to develop any software DLNA DMP / DMR (Full player DLNA) to Shanling?

No plans for optical output.

M0, M2X, M5s, all can do digital USB output, including Hi-Res and DSD.

Well, that is up to some settings in foobar. With other apps(for example Hi-fi Cast on my Android phone), M2X gets both information and cover of the played file.

Currently we have no resources to add more software for DLNA.

I do not mean digital output. I mean take in analog through 3.5mm, and transmit via BT. This is useful for flights. Any of them do that?

Oh, sorry for misunderstanding.
For such function, you would need to build in additional ADC converters, which otherwise make no sense in our players, so we do not plan to add these.

There are some dedicated devices that can take analog and send out BT, like this unit from RHA https://www.rha-audio.com/us/products/accessories/wireless-flight-adapter They work with aptX.

Has anyone here had any issue with their 2.5mm balanced connection no producing sound with certain gear? I can't seem to get my Audeze Sine DX working with the M2x even with just a normal 2.5mm balanced cable; not sure what the issue might be.

@Shanling

Any idea when your leather case stocks will be arriving in Singapore? Local retailer told me it will be arriving soon - but how soon?

Not sure, last order with cases I see in our system was shipped to them at beginning of July.

Hey! I've been enjoying my m2x... it's a great little player. one small thing to maybe consider in future firmwares: holding and sliding where you are on the song's progress bar is not very smooth. another option would be to add 15 second interval buttons (or however many seconds).

keep up the great work!

You mean that you wish for it to jump through song as you are moving slider? Not like now, when it jumps once you lift your finger?

15/30 sec jump button is something that would be more fitting for audiobook/podcast player (if it ever comes out from our software team), not something we would add to music player.

Thanks for fielding my opinion! I should have made myself clearer. I am NOT referring to jumping through the song as i move the slider. I am referring to where the track plays once i lift my finger. Here's my example:

On a 2 minute song, the slider responds well to finger movement. However, on a longer track, say 15 minutes, pick a time (let's say, 4:25) and try to land on it (or near it) as you slide your finger back and forth along the bar. It's not not easy, and what I mean by that is, with my finger on the slider, i'll be at 4:50, and with the slightest of movements, the track jumps to 3:55.

What i'm trying to articulate is that on a longer track, sliding the progress bar lack precision and accuracy.

and i don't know if there's an easy solution (other than a jump button). part of the problem is the small screen; a larger screen will allow for the track to be distributed over a longer progress bar.

But i thought i would at least bring this up. i encourage others to add their opinions.

thanks!
