Should it sound significantly better than the M0? Or is it a M0 with wifi and bigger screen (which is already a step up)? I would like to know what to expect in terms of sound quality (vs M0).

if it sounds better than M0 and has one of the latest DAC chips I could consider buying it. My wife is in love with my M0 spring festival edition, so she could have M0 and I got M2x, win win policy :)

Nice!!

release date and full specs reveal when? :)

More specs coming on thursday.

Have you got a proje Ted release date on the UP2?

UP2, last prediction I got was first release in April.

Will the EQ work in this one?

At current time, M2X is using same EQ system as M5s.

according to this site the M2X will officially release in Chinese markets around march 12th, and will be priced 1298 yuan...that's roughly 200$

still no news on specs

Yes, can confirm first limited release for Chinese marker on 12th March. Not exactly sure about international release and price yet.

Will you announce a new model, although M0 support is not in time?

M0 is fully functional DAP, but additional features and optimization of system are being worked on continuously.

I'm glad to see 2.5 balanced is on the device but Bluetooth 4.2? That is kind of a let down I hope that we can at least get some bluetooth 5.0 features like what Radsone did with the last ES100 update for Bluetooth.

Core of BT system in M2X is same as on M0 and M5s. And upgrading it to 5.0 isn't that easy.

So far we are seeing some small improvements in BT 5.0 in some of our prototypes and you will very likely get it in our future players. But it's nothing that important to rush it to the market right now.

I would be interested in the power output specs. I would assume sound quality similar or better than the M0 which would be great.

For an M3X version it would be great to take a look at the ibasso 120 for design ideas. Big power....dual micro SD slots....dedicated line out. Keep 2.5mm balanced because otherwise the unit becomes too thick.

My M2S is a real workhouse so I would be interested in how this plays out.

Considering sound - Shanling M0 is using all in one SOC chip for audio, while M2X takes traditional Hi-Fi approach with dedicated DAC, AMP and other components in audio path. We think it sounds better, but in audio world, it's all about your ears.

I started this hobby with a FIIO and eventually bought two more from FIIO. Then I moved to Shanling (with one other brand in the mix). Just realized I have owned four Shanlings and currently have two. Two of the four were M2 models....my wallet is starting to complain but clearly I am interested. Shanling is doing a nice job and the current lineup is shaping up well.

Maybe the long lost M5S tour can include the new M2X ?

Cool.
looking forward for specs reveal tomorrow..hopefully not another akm DAC, not fan of that sound, for some reason sounds bad with metal tracks...as if doesn't render guitar distortion correctly and its not forgiving for poorly recorded stuff.
ideally if it used cirrus logic DAC, i think its superior and most genre forgiving....but who im kidding, its most likely akm DAC. :frowning2:
just hope they tune it well like they did with m0.

just one question: Last time I bought the M2s. Happy. Then the M3s was released which i would have bought as Iliked the specs more (balanced, etc).
So could the same happen again that I buy a M2x only to find out two months later that a M3x is being released?

M2x looks great, but for European people will you consider Qobuz streaming service, or only Tidal?
This could really make the difference for choosing a new product, as Fiio M9 accepts and is open to a lot of streaming services like Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify... and Qobuz is currently in beta test in USA as well.

There are always new players / headphones / amps in development. Will there be M3X? Likely. When? Not sure.

We are starting with Tidal and our aim is to get one service working as good as possible, before we start adding next one.
I know Qobuz is improving its position, but compared to Tidal, it's still quite limited service.

Slightly above 200 USD.

ok, so I think I will wait for M3x. Obviously the above really means an M3x is in the making, furthermore I find the announced specs for battery life a bit disappointing.
So i wait for M3x then with hopefully Dual DAC, dual card slot, at least 15 hours battery life and 4.4mm balanced.

Also output impedance slightly disappointing.
