The player looks great, but I have a question. The power for the balanced output is not very different from the single ended, so what would be the real benefit of this balanced output?

Regards,
Juan Luis.

Power in balanced mode was limited due to excessive noise with higher power output setting. And since majority of users will be using M2X with IEMs or portable headphones, we preferred to get them quitter background than wasted boost in power.

From our measurements itself, balanced output significantly improves channel separation. And after that we are in realm of audiophile claims about what improvements balanced output brings.

Any word on technical specs, processor, ram, etc?

Processor Ingenic X1000.

Oh, that's interesting. So, in front of the m3s, the new m2x how close or far is it in terms of sound performance?

So similar looking to the M6. Hopefully user reviews and comparisons to M6 will soon arrive when its released. Im torn between the Cowon Plenue D2,the new Fiio M11,possibly the M6 and now this. Looking for great sound and a GUI that doesn't drive me crazy.

Im going to pretty much set up an in house DAP listening area and not take it out. I have a very capable, inexpensive Fiio M3K for gym and outside activities. Looking for a more refined Sound quality for my in house DAP. Leaning toward perhaps the Cowon for its sound shaping EQ or the Fiio M11 since size is not an issue.

M11 is set to replace X5-3, I'd think that if it keeps the more neutral sound in the M line, it would be a good option

This being said, M2X is considerably less expensive and also has airplay, tidal, and sounds really great so far :)

can you give short impression here?
review when? :)

Yes, making short impression in 1-2 days :)

Full review soon, I'm actually not even doing the video before I get the greenlight from Shanling, since the firmware is still in updates

BTW, I did the firmware update last night, and man, it is quick and snappy now.

My first thought is that it sounds absolutely lovely, just tested it with HIFI Sundara, and I love the sound. I really mean it, I'm blown away, really vivid and engaging.

Basic question : This supports Spotify right? Lack of info indicates no, but since it has Tidal support, it should be able to use spotify right?

Unfortunately this is not the case. Tidal is open to cooperation with smaller Hi-Fi focused manufacturers, Spotify simply doesn't care and just pushes it to smartphone users.

So Tidal yes, Spotify no.
