Hi All,

My M2X (3 months old) started playing up yesterday, the volume control wont decrease, turning the wheel the volume might lower by an increment, but will increase and eventually reach 100. The only way to decrease is to switch off to return to the startup volume setting. is running v3.3 which it came with.

I see the Shanling download page https://en.shanling.com/download/63 only has v3.2, is it worth downgrading?

Thanks!

So sorry about this, this is most likely hardware failure on the potentiometer. Please reach out to your seller for warranty.

Hello All,

I've been running into an admittedly, silly issue with my m2x, where the battery would drain to 5-7 % and switch itself off with the music still playing, possibly due to me forgetting to pause the music. Is there a way to make the player turn off after like 1-2 hour of playing instead of draining itself till it's dead?

P.s does anyone have any luck getting custom wallpaper pictures in the lockscreen? are there any cool ones that you are willing to share? thank you

In idle settings, you can enable sleep timer. But you would have to set it up each time you want to use it.

Please what issue you have with the lockscreen image? From my experience, just make sure your jpg is baseline and exactly the size and it works just fine.

Thanks for the reply, I see the setting now, hopefully the issue will not happen again...
after fiddling around with some images, it seems that the issue I have earlier is not exactly the same size as the image in the setting screen. Managed to change the wallpaper, so thank you for that!

P.S is there a way to fix a skipping volume knob or toast battery if I'm out of warranty? like maybe a disassembly/DIY guide?

We have some rough basic guide for disassembly.

And the parts can be ordered from https://www.linsoul.com/blogs/announcements/shanling-audio-repair-services-at-linsoul-audio

Just keep in mind that M2X is now out of production, so amount of replacement parts is not limitless.

Wow I see that no one has written here in almost a year. Well, I still use this excellent player as a great-sounding and super-portable DAP.

There was a little issue I wanted to ask about. A few weeks ago I added a few files of songs, and then over the last couple of weeks I added maybe 20 of those to a previously existing playlist. Today I turned on the player, and the playlist has somehow reverted back to what it was before I added the new tracks to it. The files are still on the player, but they are all off the playlist. Any idea what could cause this / how it could be avoided?

The firmware is V3.1, which is probably ancient. I've been hesitant to update as the player works perfectly (other than this recent issue), but if that's the problem I guess I'll have to update. Thank you very much @Shanling or anyone else for advice.
