Not OP but I auditioned the M6 for a while before deciding on the M2x. Personally I think the Cayin N5iiS sounds the best at this price point but the M2X is a close second and functionally far superior (at least for my usage).

Is there a comparison of M2x vs M0 anywhere?

FWIW, I have an M3s, with the same DAC and amp chips as the M2x, and in my opinion it's very far ahead of M0. While I think M0 is amazingly good for its size and price, if you are the sort of person who hears differences between solid-state amps and who values the extra fidelity that a stronger amp section brings, then I would suggest the M2x.

@Shanling is there a way to uninstall Tidal?

  7. Shanling
You can hide it from menu as any other item. No real way how to uninstall.

Can you please tell me why would you wish to uninstall it?

I'll be honest, the Tidal App is functionally useless (I know it's not Shanling's fault as Tidal is heavy limited outside of Android OS). But with that said the Tidal App is so incredible slow, the search function is a joke, and there is no offline mode. I know this means you can market this devices as Tidal ready but from a usage stand point LDACing from whatever phone you have is a fair superior/convenient option.

I don't want the program to slow down the device in anyway so would love to be able to uninstall it if possible. Let this serve as a warning for those who are looking to install it too. Really does not add anything to the Tidal experience.

New firmware V2.2 for Shanling M2X, improving performance of TIDAL app and adding two small handy functions to system.

Update over Wi-Fi or visit our website or Google drive to download new firmware.

    New functions:

    1. Added custom names for playlists. When creating new playlist, user can input any name

    2. Added “Specified folder update”. User can limit Library Update only to selected folders and system will search only for newly added files

    Fixes:

    1. Improved TIDAL performance, improving connection stability and shortening load times

    2. Fixed problems with TIDAL PREMIUM login

    3. Adjusted limit for jpg files used as album art, now supporting up to 8192 X 8192 resolution

    4. Other bug fixes

Very nice. I was going to ask about something like this.

Wanted to suggest to perhaps put a file in each folder you would want to ignore from getting scanned.

It makes no sense to suddenly get a podcast in your music shuffle :)

These are still on preorder here in Spain, hopefully they will be here next week so I can finally get to try this! I really like the M0 but it is a little small to operate easily when wanting to select specific tracks or albums (I just hit play all and have it on random), I look forwards to having a bigger area to hit with my fat fingers

On the latest firmware, wish Tidal can actually preload a whole song. Being in the go where some areas the connection will cut out, at the very least I get to listen to the song until the end before getting cut off instead of the middle of the song. At least it connects back fast. Also will there be Master quality support coming?

Lol I don't see why anyone would use the Tidal app on the M2x vs. LDACing/BTing it from your smartphone?
