This was dicussed elsewhere, I don't quite remember the details but the gist was that TIDAL has heavy licensing limitations for non-Android systems.

Happy to see it is finally here!

Need to start testing this now :)

I see. That's really unfortunately. Wasn't the M5s able to store music for tidal? I may be wrong though.

Unfortunately it's limitation from Tidal, we can do nothing about it. And it's same for all our players.

We are always trying to improve this, system now scans faster than when it was first released, but when it comes to big cards with thousands of files, it will always be kind of slower.

I like the idea of not polluting a DAP with Android

How are you connecting the M2X to the Mojo? Is there a simple USB->USB cable or do you need a special cable?

Using the Shanling USB-C to Micro USB cable. Works perfectly.
A note on that, the Fiio m6 didn't deactivate the volume control when sending USB digital via Tidal. This M2X does!! Looks like there's no silly post processing after the Tidal app. Big thumbs up for me.

We sell Shanling L2 cable for this purpose https://headphones.cz/shanling-l2

But in theory any matching cable should work.

In system settings, there is "USB Audio Output" item, there you can switch between variable and fixed volume (it's implemented into system due to USB C headphones).

That was really nice of you to post a local link for me! I'm impressed with the way you're operating :)

Is it just an OTG cable or something else? Thank you!

    Rad pomuzu :)

In my experience, it's little bit random with these cables. On one hand, we are running cheap $0.5 USB-C cable(marketed as USB cable for Macbook-printer connection) and it works perfectly with DACs costing few thousands of USD. But we also saw people buying cheap cables from ebay and similar sources, that were not working properly or even were degrading sound significantly.

Hi all, new m2x owner here... enjoying very much. i've been a longtime iPod touch & Fiio x5ii user - both of which i love for different reasons. I had bought the Fiio m6, but the software experience was just too subpar, so i returned it.

I have some m2x questions and i'm hoping someone could help me out:

    1) can playlist names be changed? If so, how?

    2) can anyone explain the different idle settings? What's the difference between sleep timer, auto-standby, and auto-shutdown?

Sorry if these have already been answered! Thanks in advance, and i'm more than happy to answer any questions others may have.

Hi, thanks for purchasing our M2X :)

    1) in-player Playlist editing is one of things our software team is working on.

    2)
Sleep timer - Set a time, after which device will turn off. Ideal if you are listening in bed and don't want your player to keep playing for hours after you fall asleep.
Auto-standby - After 1 minute of no action (stopped playback, no touch), it will go into deep sleep mode. It should consume only minimal amount of power and can be turned back on immediately. Ideal, if you pause your player from time to time, but want to get back to playing quickly.
Auto-shutdown - After set time of no action, it will turn off device completely. Consumes no power at all, but then it takes few seconds to turn on. Ideal if you are listening to your player only occasionally and want to preserve its battery between listening sessions.

seeing some previous fiio m6 owners here, how does the M2X compared to fiio m6 audio wise?
is it worth the extra 50$?
i listen mostly to instrument type music like metal and rock, no EDM,pop but sometimes hip hop(rarely).
    did own shanling m0 before.

Hi All, Really enjoying the new M2X. It's an upgrade for me from M0 and Hiby R3. Still keeping the swiss army knife baby shan M0 allrounder. Initial impressions after last few days is just wow, it will definitely put a smile on your face by it's sonic performance. Instantly can notice the instrument separation and stage, sweety and amazing mids, tamed highs and deep lows. For the features and UI another hats off to Shanling.

There are few enhancements which can further improve the user's experience in future FW updates.

    1) Right now is the EQ frequencies doesn't have DB scale, so very difficult adjust them precisely. Also if the scale can move with the wheel, it can be easily adjusted.

    2) Some improvements in the album view with large thumbnails or covers view can be very good. This is in addition to the current list view.

    3) Can we expect Master support in Tidal in near future?

Meantime this is my first post in head-fi :) :)
