New firmware for M1, 4.4. Mainly fixing the battery indicator problem.

Please download and see, if there are any other problems still ongoing.

Download from our website or from Google Drive

It looks like the problem with the longer pauses of the music and the immediate switch off after playing has been solved. But I will continue to observe it.

If I find any other problems, I'll post this here.

Since I've upgraded to 4.3 and 4.4 I noticed some bluetooth range issue while I'm using bluetooth earphones and my Shanling M1 is in the pocket of my pants that I wear in that moment.
I always had to fix the position of the player in my pocket to avoid the "jumping" music while listening. I tried different wireless earphones (in-ear and on-ear) but it doesn't change. I thought it was a problem of my bluetooth devices, by trying pair them with my smartphone, but no: bluetooth is ok.
It has no sense to use bluetooth devices if there's no range or starts suffering of bluetooth connection issues with just some fabric.

Hey, guys!

Has anyone tried operating on their M1? My unit's battery is slowly depleting as I'm constantly getting 4-6 hours of play time before it goes out. I might change the battery on my unit if it's possible.

Hoping for your kind response on the matter. Thanks!

The back is glued on.
The first M1 I bought, was a gift for my Dad.
He used it some during 2016, but since he has Alzheimer's, it was left connected to a charger during most of 2017.
I picked it up at Christmas, and it seemed like it wouldn't turn on, or take a charge.
When I removed it from its case, the back had been pushed open by the battery.
Note that the battery is connected to the circuit board with 4 wires - 2 Red, and 2 Black.

And with older firmwares, BT range was better for you?

Regarding BT, different BT headphones/earphones has different sensitivity to signal. On one side you have amazing Beats and Sony, on other end lots of subpar solutions from smaller chinese manufacturers. So some of them will work better with smartphone, which has stronger BT transmitter than M1.

Battery can be changed, will see what I can do for you, since shipping of spare battery is problematic.

If anyone want to change battery on any of our devices, never open back panel. back panel is glued on, while front panel is simply being hold by small plastic legs and can be repeatedly open.
Battery is connected to main board by connector, no need to fiddle with cables going to battery.

My M1 paired with Plantronics BACKBEAT PRO2 has a sound artifact - a loud click on the transition to the next track, as well as when rewinding forward or backward. With other my BT headphones this defect is not present. BUT I have M0, which paired with Plantronics BACKBEAT PRO2 plays without clicks! Can anyone check? V.4.4 .Please.

Well, M0 has completely different system and BT solution, that explains the difference. Why it's just on one pair of headphones, that's a mystery.

Thank you! My naive considerations: The Plantronics BACKBEAT PRO2 has a Class 1 BT receiver (sensitivity up to 30 meters). IMO can be incompatibility in the complete disconnection of the signal when rewinding and navigating the song .. By the way, M1 and M0 have both similar problems with the channel balance, the loudness-balance dependence on loudness values from 0 to 30, strange correlation of power amplifiers is clearly traced.

@Shanling I think firmware 4.4 has some new problems. I get some interruptions at the beginning of some songs and I think the clicks in between songs when forwarded and skipped, are louder. I went back to 4.3 and there is no problem. You might want to check that.
Can you get rid of the small tick sound when songs are forwarded altogether? It’s annoying.

My m1 is on the latest firmware, i tried using it with earin m2 and i get lots of clicks and noise over bluetooth. I've tried it with high quality and low amd its still the same. Anyone got any advice to resolve this? Ita making it unusable over BT.

Can you please test it with different pair of BT headphones to see if there is something wrong with M1 or just with this one exact pairing?

Is the player limited to searching only 15.000 songs? Because I just surpassed that limit and it surely seems so.
New music is not being found. The "Update my music inmediately" counts up to 15.000 and stops.

Seems that my only option is folder view.
Is that so?
