Hmm, Shanling seems to have pulled out the v1.12 update. I think they broke the DAC option on Windows in v1.12, it was detecting the device as a USB drive although DAC was enabled and you'd have to swap modes from USB > DAC in order to use it.

Ok, thanks, I was looking to download it (just arrived my M1 that came with 1.10) I think I'll wait to the new version instead of updating to 1.11.

You might want 1.11 if you plan on using an external dac with the M1.  This update fixed the issue where the M1 would turn on by itself if it was connected to an external dac.

Yeah, but I don't think it won't take so long to put the corrected one, I guess....
Meanwhile I'll be testing/burning the headphone out.

How do you adjust the volume, with the M1 itself? how many volume steps? and the battery drain?

Volume adjusted through the shanling itself. Has 100 steps, powers the DT 1770s loudly at around 75.
No idea about battery drain as I only tested it for about 30 mins and don't own a shanling M1 myself so can't follow up with any battery results.

I bought mine in Zococity (www.zococity.es) in their no VAT weekend for 115€+4€ postage. They are being sold right now for 140€.
Another solution is buying it on Aliexpress (Aoshida-HIFI Audio Store seems to have a nice price).

Another thing, do you recommend any small standard USB (A) to USB-C cable? And USB-C to USB-C, small also?

Not the UK, and not much cheaper, but I bought mine from this site.
