Well so far, I CANNOT make it work with the Mojo. It identifies the Mojo as otg, so input, and not setting to set it as USB output...Shanling if you have a solution give it quickly or I just lost 100&.

Could you please try the following instead of using the included USB-C to micro USB-B OTG cable, use a regular USB-C to USB-A OTG adapter ( i.e. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Converts-Technology-Compatible-ChromeBook/dp/B01COOQIKU/ ) plus a USB-A to micro USB-B cable ( i.e. https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-1-5-Feet-28AWG-5-pin-micro-B/dp/B002HZYBZ6/ ) if this makes a difference? Thank you.

Btw. do you have maybe other USB DAC/AMP combo you can try with USB audio on the M1?

I don't have other DAC/AMP, except the AK100 which can act as an USB DAC...will try when I have time. I have ordered several cables including such an adapter and will try when I have received them.

I'm just another person looking forward to using this with the Mojo until I saw the reports here that it might not work with the Mojo and I was very disappointed especially since I just preordered this player a few days ago.. I immediately dropped the Shanling user here a pm and this was his reply:

"M1 can work with MOJO via USB digital output. However in the current FW version of M1, the USB output has not been activated-it will be provided in the future FW."

so all is not lost.. although it is annoying to know that I can't use it for its original purpose when it arrives at my door.. also no idea when this "future FW" will arrive.. would be really irritating if it take months.. :evil:

@shanling
Any idea?

M1 can work with MOJO, via USB output connection.

However I forgot to mention that in the current FW, the USB output function is not yet activated-my fault, sorry for the confusion.

We will provide a upgrade very soon. As some guys mentioned, the Beta version has already been working with MOJO perfectly.

What's more, M1 can receive signal from your cellphone, and OTG to MOJO, making it a bluetooth receiver.

Cheers.

People will be disappointed Shanling, that is one of the major selling features for your M1 product, the ability to work with Mojo (and other DACs). Best you have your software team work overtime, or release the Beta firmware to some users.

does the provided usb-C to micro usb really not work (i.e can't fit into) with the Mojo as well? do we need to buy an additional adapter to fit them together?

My OTG cable works, it is detected on both side, but the provided cable does not go all the way in on the Mojo side and is not detected on the Mojo side.

To clarify, with my cable, the Shanling says "OTG detected" but doesn't output music to the Mojo. The Mojo still detects a signal as the light is red.

With the provided USB C to micro USB cable, the Shanling doesn't detect anything and neither does the Mojo. It mights work with other DAC/AMPS though.

I wished I had known this before ordering 4 other OTG cables...well I have never been the patient one :D

Thats great to know :)

Will the provided USB-C to micro USB-B cable from the M1 box will work in this case? Like shown here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/816385/shanling-m1-an-ipod-nano-competitor-dap-usb-dac-usb-transport-bluetooth-4-0-aptx-dsd/405#post_12896132

This picture from you show a USB-C OTG to USB-A adapter plus a regular USB-A to micro USB-B cable, which is very sturdy cabeling, so I hope the small decent provided cable from the M1 will do the same job as well.

The provided cable is only for input, for example working with Android phone as DAC, that means you are right, output cable is another additional item.

Thanks.

What cable / adapter are you using in the picture? Also would a USB otg cable do the same job?

I've never used a USB OTG cable before.. so pardon my lack of knowledge.. I see that in this picture a USB-OTG with a micro USB is used with a USB->USB-C adapter.. does it matter which device the USB OTG cable is plugged into for this setup to work?

I found some USB-C OTG cables, so could I plug the OTG cable into the M1, and then a USB->micro USB cable from the end of the OTG cable to a Mojo? Would that work? So basically the reverse of what is shown in the picture by Shanling.

M1-> (USB-C OTG) -> (USB->microUSB) -> Mojo

I was interested in getting the M1 to reduce the complexity of my setup.. it looks like that isn't going to happen!
