Anyhow, no drivers needed. Win 10 sees it as a drive, as I wanted it to.

For usage as a mass storage device there's no driver needed.
It is only needed for usage as USB sound card/DAC.

Yes, it has sleep mode / hybernation / standby mode.

Let me tell you what this new firmware does, because nobody checked before they issued it. It breaks the M1 bluetooth function and the USB function so that the work around I posted on the last page no longer works. Thanks Shanling. M1 with Firmware 4.2 has no problems with Bluetooth or USB(both in file transfer and USB DAC mode). Case of your unique behaving unit is still mystery to us. We can't fix with firmware update some problem we don't know. Did you reached out to your seller and asked for different unit under warranty?

You can try to carefully open unit and check what happened inside. But all at your risk.

Or contact your seller and ask for warranty repair.

You did. But their response was basically that the Chinese market is bigger and more important than the overseas market and the Chinese market preferred standby vs off so they were only going to support standby.

@Shanling is it possible to implement stopwatch feature to M1? It's perfect DAP for running or cycling, but it lacks time measurement option.

@bachankas a decent smartphone will auto shut down, have a clock app with stopwatch and also play music. All your problems would disappear
