i've tried every codec on m0, an always maximun volume, no music comes out whatsoever
Since we don't have your Smsl to test, I can't say much more to this. We tested it with wide range of devices, headphones, speakers, adapters, M0 worked fine.
Since M0 has clock function. Is it possible to has clock mode like smartwatch?
One more question, if HibyLink like application has been developed, is it possible to use like this, pair BT headphone with M0 and control M0 via smartphone with app?
Since the screen is the most battery consuming part of Shanling M0, watch function would be quite bad idea.
Such function would need bothway communication at the same time, not sure if M0 is really build for that.
Does anyone else have latency issues in DAC mode?
Even in Low Latency and minimum latency I am getting about .4 seconds lag. Is this normal?
It's unfortunately limitation of USB solution used on our players.
Just added a little update with Line Out test results (paired up with E12A, updated Wired/Wireless section of the review, on the last page). Makes me wonder, since ESS DAC combines amp stage, if they actually bypass the amp to have a direct DAC output, instead of just raising volume up to the max. Either way, output is very clean, transparent, and no clipping.
Since it's combined chip, it's not direct line out from DAC.
Having a hard time burning my M0 in. It's either locking up or powering down on me.
The only power setting left on right now is Idle Mode @ 1min. But since the M0 is playing files all night long, it's certainly not Idle. What's going on?
I have my pink noise track on repeat loop. Is this just a bug?
Well, if you want to burn in, my recommendation is to turn off both Idle modes.
I used my unit for some battery life tests without problem, so I don't think it's software bug.
Can you try to see, if you will have same problems with different files and while the unit is not on charger?
This is a must for me. I hope they fix this
Support for external playlists coming in future firmware.
Another faulty M0 here. It was defective out of the box with the same 'ghost screen' issues shown above. It's like it's recording phantom screen presses and it's completely unusable, can't even go to the settings to update the firmware (if that is potentially the issue).
Another issue is that I shipped it to Australia from the Shanling store on the Amazon.com.au site. But it's all in Chinese. So even if I could use the screen, I would still struggle to change the language.
Pretty disappointed to be honest. Even if I get a replacement model that works, how long will it be until the screen issues reappear.
Firstly, sorry that this defective unit reached you and Jackboy, this is of course covered by warranty, please reach out to your seller for replacement unit.
Talking about seller, Shanling doesn't sell directly outside of China, so there is nothing like "Shanling Amazon" store. Our only official retailer in Australia is Jaben.
Going to Amazon.com.au, I see only offer on M0 from Shenzhen Audio, Chinese seller, which might explain why the unit was set up in Chinese.
We have some units running on since January and none of them developed this issue after months of usage. If we encounter such issue, it was caused by faulty hardware part and was apparent immediately.
