Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

@Shanling
Looks like I found another bug in FW 3.3. When M0 works in BT transmitter mode (BT headsed connected, then plug as DAC to PC) unnecessary animation removed in 3.3, which I think no one is missing. But unfortunately, it seems that this animation only got to a different place than it should. I noticed that after recharging my TWS they can't automatically reconnect to M0 if this was in standby before. In this case, the above BT mode animation will pop up, then I must cancel BT mode and connect TWS manually in BT setup menu. If auto shutdown is set on M0 instead of auto standby, then everything works properly, TWS automatically reconects and the animation doesn't show up. Does anyone have the same problem?

Shanling M0 Firmware V3.3

Download from our website or Google Drive

New Functions:

1. SyncLink – Control playback of M0 from connected Android smartphone or tablet.

Note: To use SyncLink function, you need to install Shanling Music app. App is available as .apk file in the zip file with firmware update.

Note 2: SyncLink function is still considered beta, there will be following updates.

Note 3: At current time Shanling Music app is available only for Android devices.

2. Added Russian language.

3. Added AB repeat function.

Note: To use AB repeat, click on AB button on now playing screen. Then tap on two positions on progress bar, to set position A and B.

4. Added DSD-native support for USB Output to external DAC.

Changes and fixes:

1. Adjusted Playback speed control (available in 1.25/1.5/2x speed).

2. Adjusted now playing screen, moving progress bar to the first group of controls.

3. Other bug fixes.
Thanks for the firmware upgrade. I installed it, but I wonder why it is a .rar file rather than a .zip. That file format isn’t standard on macOS or Chrome OS as it is a Windows thing.

With some TWS, M0 gets confused by their communication and get switched into BT receiver mode by accident. Is this what's happening to you?

Please which TWS do you use?

Was mistake with this upload, by accident put it into .rar file. Will fix it.
We are aware some Mac users are confused by .rar file and so we normally use .zip file for our downloads.

I see it’s a zip file rather than a rar this time - thanks for fixing that!

Yes, this seems to be a problem only with some TWS, I have Soundpeats Truedot with Qualcomm chip. Now I tried Marshall BT and it works right there, they always reconnects correctly. I found that even shutdown instead of standby does not always work properly with these TWS. I have these TWS only a while, so I don't know if the same problem occurred with the older FW's. It's a bit annoying, but I can live with this.

I just update to Firmware 3.3 and then to 3.4 without any problem.
Many thanks for the permanent support @Shanling!

I just received my M0 and the MTW100 to use in the gym. I am not getting any sound from the MTW100 at all. I was able to connect them to my FIIO M11 with no issues. Is there a particular setting I need for the M0 to work correctly with them? I have it in AAC mode for BT. Thank you for any help.

What software version are you on. For a long time sac didn't work with true wireless earphones on the m0, but since a few updates ago it works fine with all sets I tried. Try using SBC.

Will it ever be possible to implement into Shanling M0 the function which allows user to go back for a few seconds? It might be very useful for audiobooks. Especially if done by click, not touchscreen.
They don't care :frowning2:
Audiobook listeners are not Shanling's target audience. People have been asking for a simple bookmark for a long time, and it doesn't look like it will ever be added.

I had hopes...
If you find a CHEAP (sub-$100) audio player that is well suited for audiobooks and podcasts - let us know!
I also wanted a dedicated player just for spoken word (audiobooks AND podcasts)... For that purpose, I do not really care about sound quality, but other than automatically saving position in each track - I would also want easy way to skip forward (15 or 30 seconds for example) and change speed (say 1.1x, 1.2x).

Oh, I love this player, I'm listening to it at the moment.

My hopes were that what had been stated would come to pass. I was not counting on it.

There's always my smartphone for listening to audiobooks. That being said I am happily using SyncLink with my M0 right now.

It's not all gloom, eh?
