Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I love the sound quality and form factor of the M0. I, however, have concerns about its build quality. On my first M0, the headphone jack only works through one channel, and I can no longer control the volume. On its replacement, I can no longer click the wheel. Is it just me or have others experienced these issues?

I couldn't find the old clip, which is odd because I was planning to sand the place the clip snapped and epoxy a better clip on.

Here is a picture of the new clip with a yellow arrow pointing to the changed part. This indenture was completely flat on the old case version I had and it makes ALL the difference in the strength of the grip.

Where did you order from exactly?

That's the one that I got back in January from SHENZHENAUDIO, fulfilled by Amazon USA. It's still available for $6.99, but the photos don't have the extra tab like yours and mine have. I assume they're just old photos since it's the one that I bought.

To anybody experimenting with alternative firmware, please be aware, to restore your M0 after bricking it, you will need to physically open the device.
It's funny to read this given that no user has injured from my alternative firmware unlike your official firmware. Lol.

2all: I will keep the script for packing the firmware for now, because of the hardware (the button in a difficult place) and software (shanling developers are too lazy to make a normal safe bootloader) flaws it is really very easy to turn the player into a brick.

Hi, done the v3.0 update but the problem with AAC BT on some earbuds is still there. I've QCY T2C and Mifo O5 that work AAC on other device but no sound on my M0 (SBC and LDAC Auto work fine). I'd read from the older comment that the Sabbat E12 couldn't use AAC as well, maybe the problem is on the chipset's matching software since these earbuds use the same chipset Realtek RTL8763B, could you fix that?

Got some TWS running this chip, can confirm the problem with AAC, now it's up to software team for fix.

I'd like to report the volume is way too loud with Huawei Freebuds (first gen), while there's no such issue with Jaybird Freedom 1 & 2, neither with wired earbuds. It's like there's no progression : 1 is low, 2 is medium, 3 and above are loud and extremelly loud, no smooth volume control at all.
Freebuds have no issue while paired with a smartphone, volume control is OK and progressive.

Unfortunately in office we have only new Freebuds2 and their volume works fine. Will try to see, if we can find previous gen around to test.

equalizer.
If you click on the scale (far from the point-slider), then the point moves to the place of contact.
This is extremely inconvenient since in 100% of cases such touches occur by chance. At the same time, the settings change as an avalanche - even on those bands that were not going to change.
Point slider - should move only if it specifically click on it with your finger.

And I remind you of the display of the current value - for each band. Otherwise, after making changes - it is impossible to return to the value that was previously.
Even zero is impossible to set and you have to reset all settings.

@Shanling
Any news on a 3.1 firmware with fixes for 3.0 ? (bluetooth volume)

Your problem was with line out setting and BT receiver mode, right? It was reported to software team.

Regarding EQ, as I said, we are looking into possible ways how to improve it, either somehow combine it with wheel control or add value indicator, etc.

Would also be a great time to anounce a proper genre sort. You know: genre > album artist > album > songs rather than the completely useless genre > songs.

Just wanted to say I am blown away by the new firmware. LDAC from Note 9 to M0 out via USB to Chord Mojo to CA Solaris and it sounds amazing.

I think my XCAN will be finding a new home!

Well done Shanling.
