Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Sorry if this is an old question but i have just read through about 100 pages of comments and didn't see it...

The UP2 used as a DAC only supports 16/48 ... does the M0 plugged into an android phone allow higher 24/92+ support or is it still limited?
Using apps like USB Audio Pro or PowerAmp

Thanks
J

M0 (and other of our portable players) have different USB implementation than UP2. M0 supports up to 24/192 over USB when used as DAC.

having problems with my MO when pulled into an amp via USB
No volume control
Is that how it works?
I don't have volume control on my AMP which is a PowerDAC V2 unless I use my phone

System > USB AUDIO OUTPUT > Volume fixed / variable.

@Shanling Is there any news regarding FW3.2? Are there any plans of fixing the issues in BT receiver mode that was introduced in FW3.0 and failed to address in FW3.1? How about ReplayGain?

It has been a while now so I thought I'd ask...

The focus seems to be on the development for their Android M6.

It would seriously surprise me to see more real development on MTouch.

Let's not get too hasty. I still have faith, if not hope. They have at least 2 other current models with MTouch and the M0 is (I'm guessing) their best selling device, I hope they don't kill the 'goose' quite yet. There's a couple of features they said were coming that's yet to arrive.

Besides, fixing an issue caused by an update is hardly 'real development', is it?

I sincerely hope they are willing to fix this terrible fading issue, causing the end of 20% of all tracks to be cut off violently... or at least make gapless work whenever it is switched on.
Anyhow, we should at least expect one more update, fixing the text GAPLESS in the equalizer window - i keep my fingers crossed some other things will be fixed too!

I'm really sorry for shanling, I said I would have waited but I couldn't bear the gaps, and I found a cheap but good android player (not the Sony) good luck everyone!

RE: gapless, same concerns here.

It's not something I notice frequently with the M0 given how I use it most of the time (gym usage). But the SQ is a big sell for me, so much so that you could have a long-term buyer here for one of your larger players as I sell off / retire some of my older DAP's.

But to use this (or any other player) as a daily driver, gapless is a must-have for me so if this could be fleshed out let us know please. I appreciate the active replies in this forum btw and that in itself is a big plus.

Does it sound any better than a smartphone with poweramp?
Yes indeed the dac is so much better than any smartphone I know. the quality difference is still marginal (I think most of the job is made by the quality of the source and headphones) but the most notable Improvement is the lack of background noise. In this the shanling excels too, like everything else quality wise.

Software team has all notes on these issues. They were now kind of flooded with release of M6, but now should be putting again more work into MTouch.

We are still developing MTouch, it still is being used on some upcoming players.
