    Further test results...

@endgame: you asked if GAPLESS play also works from a folder. It does.
Furthermore, it doesn't matter what is in the folder. It can be a bunch of random files in various formats from different albums, they will still be played gapless. But: playback should still be in LIST PLAY mode, otherwise gapless will be disabled.

@Nailgun: and... it works. I put mp3, WAV and FLAC files in the same folder, turned on LIST PLAY and GAPLESS, opened the folder, and everything played back flawlessly.
No glitches, no tic sounds, no jumps, but also: no fades, no shortened audio!
The only thing that obviously happened, was that sometimes there was this little 35 millisecond gap before or after a mp3-file. The transitions from FLAC to WAV and vv were spot on.

So, Shanling, if you want to make me happy: please enable gapless play in all settings, including, especially, SHUFFLE PLAY. This would solve problem nr. 2 completely for me.

As for problem nr. 1 (tiny gaps between mp3 files in gapless play): I can totally live with that. And I saw some other people said the same.

Note that I did not test AAC, mp4, APE and other more obscure formats.
I also did not test the use of playlists, since i never use those.

@Shanling knows about non perfect mp3 gapless, even if tiny I think it must be corrected. Not sure if they really will do that.
I discovered that maybe the Sony Walkman will do that. Looks like the nw45 does it perfectly, and I'll wait for the release of the nw55 in November. That would be +€80 the M0 price, but if I can't have it here, I'll think about investing more in a better player (I hope)

@Nailgun I agree with you, both problems should be tackled, ideally.
Fixing mp3 gapless play might be a hurdle - there are more players that have trouble with that. At least there is a workaround for this: you can always convert your favorite albums to FLAC or WAV.
Or if that is too memory-consuming, you can glue the mp3's together to one big file. Far from ideal, i admit.

For the problems with normal play there is no workaround that I know of. Especially not for shuffle play, which I use all the time. Let's cross our fingers and hope the Almighty Shanling will fix both...

yeah, i have 128+ gb of music, most of which i personally ripped directly in mp3 320 with accurate rip and foobar. if i reconvert them in flac or wav i'll rip them again. because starting from the mp3 i'll waste more sd space with even less quality.. and it will take a very long time doing the rips again. so it is a no-no for me... i already preordered the sony nw a55. it is coming out on november 25. if that will work as i want, i'll return the shanling. i appreciate support efforts but i'm tired of fighting with technology (i'm having a lot of issues with gopro for exemple... 4 fautly units...). but i really hope it will be fixed before that. not being able to listen to my music as i did with cd makes me nervous, so.. i really hope to find a solution in the next months

I want to be able to hide the time display on the lock screen and change the color.
It is difficult to see depending on the color of the lock screen.

The codec connection cannot be displayed in BT reception mode.

In the quick access menu, instead of setting the screen brightness, I want you to change the USB mode.

Please add the setting so that the main menu or quick menu will open when you click the wheel.

Altough I have the latest firmware, none of the equation settings changes anything in the sound.
Any idea how to solve this ?
[EDIT] It was because the audio file was Hi-Res... Hope this will be fixed in a next firmware update...

We plan no additional settings for clocks and their colour. We can only advice to choose lock screen image accordingly to it.

In BT receiver mode, logo of used codec is displayed under playback controls.

We have discussed some changes to quick menu, will see how it will change.

Open menu wheel click wheel? Not planning to do that.

No EQ with Hi-Res files is limitation that we have in our system from beginning, not likely to be changed.

I've just ordered my M0 and have a quick question for those of you who have the armband case. Is it possible to remove the band and use it as a standalone case or is the armband sewn in place?

Can any user confirm if it can take USB audio from a computer and transmit over LDAC?
What bitrate will it be in Windows settings, and how is the latency?
I plan to get one for just this purpose. I want to stream the best possible quality PC audio to my ES100.
Also worried about the battery going bust if I keep it attached to the PC all the time. Some reviews on Amazon saying it dies if over charged.

    Thanks

Apple is currently getting blasted for not having "export playlists as XML" in the new Music app on Catalina. So if you're using iTunes playlists in any of your workflows you need to stay with Mojave.

Yes, it can be used as BT transmitter with computer and LDAC capable headphones/Receiver.

Bitrate is limited by the used BT codec, so 990 kbps with LDAC. On PC side you should be able to feed it up to 24/192 (limitation of USB input on M0).
Latency slightly larger than pure LDAC latency. No problem for music, most of times no problem with videos(especially since any good video program has audio latency setting). Only for games it wouldn't be ideal.

If anything goes bad with battery, it's firstly covered by warranty. And we also offer possibility to purchase replacement battery.

Sorry if this is an old question but i have just read through about 100 pages of comments and didn't see it...

The UP2 used as a DAC only supports 16/48 ... does the M0 plugged into an android phone allow higher 24/92+ support or is it still limited?
Using apps like USB Audio Pro or PowerAmp

    Thanks

having problems with my MO when pulled into an amp via USB
    No volume control
    Is that how it works?
I don't have volume control on my AMP which is a PowerDAC V2 unless I use my phone

Have you tried setting the System/USB Audio Output setting to Volume Variable?
