Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

That would really only be a good option for bluetooth, I wouldn't want walk around with a headphone cable hanging from my wrist. The other question would be would it affect the bluetooth signal strength at all?

I have at times clipped my M0 to the headband extender on my headphones when I don't want the cable to get in the way. It looks a little silly but it works and keeps the headphone cable from getting caught around stuff. I can still skip tracks using the click wheel but certainly not a long term solution

I guess you could route the cable through your sleeve, especially if it has an L-shaped plug.

i want to connect my m0 with my laptop but my laptop doesnt have micro usb port, only standard usb ports and one type-c so i cant use the l2 cable. has anyone connected his m0 with a laptop through a type c to type c cable to tell me if its possible? i thought of bying a dragonfly red/black but i cant find a comparison between m0 and dragonfly so i dont know if dragonfly red/black deserves the money over m0.

Plans, we have them and they are big. But it's always long way from promises of engineers to actual product I can offer to our customers and distributors.

Yes, 2 channel audio is foundation of Shanling, including stuff like top rated CD players costing close to 7 000 USD. In past they were available around the world, but currently they are pretty much just for Chinese market. Will see if that can be changed.

Speakers, they are in the past, not made anymore.

I see :)

Well, good thing that Shanling has upcoming tricks, would love to see a super high-end product in the portable line :)

You can. Go USB-A to Usb-c or Usb-c to Usb-c. Shouldn't matter. Though if you're charging you laptop with Usb-c then you might as well get an A to C cable. One type C on a laptop is a bit of a bummer. Proper is two. Ideal is one on each side.

Isn't the dragonfly kind of single purpose? Do you want a tiny DAP that can be a DAC or do you just want a DAC for your laptop and phone?

Some of you might notice Shanling Music app listed in download on our website. This is early beta of our app, currently available only in Chinese and mainly used for signing up for Chinese streaming service on M5s.

DO NOT install this app at current time.

Hey everyone. I've been using my M0 ever since I got it back in August of this year. I heard that the battery life for it is 15 hours? Whenever I listen to audio through my FiiO FH1s, I notice a drop in battery performance. The M0 gets to the 3rd bar on the indicator within 4 hours. Is this a major problem that I should be concerned about? I haven't seen any recent updates to firmware on Shanling's website as of late. My M0 has the latest software at 2.2. (You're doing an amazing job replying to comments James! Keep it up!)

Battery indicator is not the most precise in M0. So difference between getting to 3rd bar and actual battery life can be quite different.

I have the M0 connected to my Denon M38 using line out. In this setup I cannot change volume on M0 (which is fine).

Then I connect phone to M0 via Bluetooth. It's at max volume (expected) but as soon as I change volume from phone then the M0 changes to volume controlled headphone mode it seems (volume much lower in general).

Is this intended? Or should Bluetooth volume be locked then?

The exact same setup works fine on M2s and I can change volume via Bluetooth.

@Shanling See Bluetooth volume issue above. Is it possible to have this addressed in a future firmware update?

You need to install the driver from Shanling on to the laptop (first page, third post, last line).

Depending on which app you're using, select m0 as the output device in preferences or in the Windows Sound Control Panel.

Obviously you connect the headphones to the M0.

@Shanling please help us out and make production of a clip that has swivel or in sideways orientation so this can look like a proper watch lol, not joking.

Stitch a bit of webbing perpendicular to the watch strap for the clip?

But agreed, a purpose built 'wrist case' for the M0 would be perfect. It was what I initially envisioned when I saw the first pics. I thought it wasn't impossible for the M1 to get a 'wrist case' either but since this little bad boy came out, why bother, right? Less chance of bashing/getting it caught on stuff than if it was on a pendant. I fear for the screen on a pendant.

+1 for audiophile smart watch. lol

That aside, this is the best BT receiver EVER! As I am currently chained to a half eaten fruit, the AAC support on BT is an absolute godsend. You have upgraded the headphone jack on my iPhone SE (both SQ and output power) in one fell swoop. Thank you Shanling.
@Shanling If you could incorporate a mic in your next gen of M0, this would be my PERFECT device. A true audio SAK I would never leave home without! And I would pre order now, BTW
