Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I echo what @Czoken said above: in USB DAC mode, sometimes there is basically 0 delay (less than 50ms), sometimes it is up to 400-500ms.

Setting the sampling rate to 176 or 192khz seems to help reduce the delay. Unplugging/replugging after a while also keeps the delay minimal. (I'm using Windows 10.)

Is this a hardware or software issue?

Will try to look more into this problem.

The M0 looks like a player I would use daily if only it could read external playlists. Hopefully Shanling will address this in a future update.

We have it implemented on M5s, coming to M0 in future update.

Any timeline? Or no guarantees

So far nothing 100%.

Does the M0 have a balanced output? If not, could someone recommend me one with such a thing? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg either. Haha.

No balanced output.

We have M3s and upcoming M5s that will have balanced output.

And why are you even looking for balanced output? It isn't some magical spell that would improve sound from any device.

For those who might still not be too sure on the size of the M0, hopefully this will put it in perspective :)

While I appreciate the M0's footprint, the "look how small it is" posts ignore the the thickness. Especially if you're comparing it to an apple watch which is half as thick.

Complete the picture and take a shot from the side.

I know it wasn't designed to be a watch, but if there was a strap and clock mode I'd wear it as such. It might not be as small as the Apple Watch, but it's a fraction of that eye-watering price and works with non-Apple devices. And there are Android watches out there as chunky, if not bigger.

Is it bit perfect transport ? I tried to output dsd encoded FLAC 24bit 176.4khz files which were sttutering. It should not be the case as it should output it as pure pcm and dac should recognise it as dsd.

Hi,

The M0 is not attached to the strap and is just resting on it for the purpose of a size comparison.

I keep seeing this and thinking of that JB Weld commercial and thinking why not put a couple bars on the back of that thing with a nice NATO strap:thumbsup:
