Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I'm definitely interested by the ES100 and also futur BTR3 and BTR5 from Fiio.
But the advantage of the M0 would be to have both a Bluetooth receiver + a real DAP for lossless and HDaudio built-in into a single device.
Best of both world!

For small and inexpensive devices, I suspect that having both aptX Transmit and Receive capabilities, probably won't happen until Qualcomm develops a single-chip solution.

I know I would like to have a device that's between the size of the M3s and a cellphone, to have a big enough battery for 10 hours of use - with WiFi (for streaming music), BT aptX HD Transmit & Receive, USB DAC, USB / SPDIF Audio Output (for use as a Transport), and Singled-Ended & Balanced Amplifier Output...

If the M0 does turn out to be $99, then for the same price, you should buy the Radsone EarStudio ES100 Bluetooth (aptX HD) Receiver & Headphone Amplifier (3.5mm TRS & 2.5mm TRRS). It's on Amazon.
Never heard of this one! Thanks for sharing. Looks interesting indeed.

I think HiBy R6 or R3 might check most of the boxes for you. Have you looked into those? (I have the R6 and debated R3 or M0 for an even more portable use)

If we can’t have both, then the Receive capability is fine.
I don’t know if anyone here would be interested by a transmitter only device.

Maybe I’m wrong but people don’t buy a new device with a dedicated Dac to solely transmit Bluetooth to their headphone.
A real smartwatch would be more relevant.

It’s me or you’re talking about the HiBy R3?

The R3 looks interesting, but I have no interest in Tidal (or current Pop music). If it had Spotify, Google Play Music, TuneIn Radio Pro, AccuRadio, Amazon Music, etc. - then I would consider it.

I have one and it works great. Only thing is that it requires that one uses the android or apple app to enable all the features.

It has Bluetooyh input. Just not AptX.

Clipcase was confirmed, the Shanling rep showed me picture of it. Plastic hardcase with clip.
Did you take any photos? The ones Shanling posted are all from the front (screen) so we cannot see anything other than the screen...
Also, did the rep confirm release date?!

Around $100usd; but i am not sure if this is the rrp
If it had, say, A@tell & K@rn, on it, it would probably cost $1,500...
LOL...

Canjam was a blast, amazing to see surprised face of all people that took the M0 into their hand for first time!

All information on M0 coming this week! Honestly, didn't manage to translate them into English in time before I flew to Singapore.

Any plans to have a phone control app like hiby? I uses hiby link more than I expected to with my m1, it really helps when you have a large music collection.

We have big plans for this new system, so yes, we hope to get such a app.

Can it be used as bluetooth receiver from phone?
Beside AptX and LDAC, also Bluetooth AAC?

To all questions regarding BT - It has two way BT. Can send SBC, aptX, LDAC and we think we will manage to add AAC too. Receiver is SBC and we should be able to also get LDAC working! No aptX input, for that we would need another separate chip(and there is not enough space in M0).

I'm interested in this one, but few things I'm curious about. Will it hiss with sensitive iems on the level of M1? What is the output impedance.? And, is there a video of the way the ui works? I thought Hiby ui was pretty good.

The volume/selection dial looks the same as M2s and M3s, I like that. I'm not a fan of the way the dial is done on the M1. I really want a good sounding compact for iems right now.

Was testing it with Andromeda over weekend(and pretty much with all high-end IEMs on Canjam), also put few other people to this test. And I'm happy to report, there is no hiss!(at standard volume you would use with these IEMs)
Only slight noise you might hear(and only with extremely sensitive IEMs), is quiet high pitch from screen, but only when screen is turned on. Turn off screen and black background is perfect.

Output impedance is 0.17 Ohm.

Volume wheel/power button is different from previous players. Slightly smaller, more flush with body.

We shall have some video of UI before the release.

and i just bought the m2s... :cry::cry::cry::cry:

Well, they are quite different in sound, M2s is more powerful device with warmer tone.

Glad to hear that. You were very responsive to our requests but HiBy was keeping you down. I don't have much hope but if there is audiobook support I will buy this instantly

With M0, I ask everybody to report any small mistakes or quirks to us, if we will be able to fix them, they will get fixed.
Sidenote, with M0, I tried to put together these small annoying things people reported on our other players, so I'm glad it now can properly sort 2 CD albums, user can choose between auto standby and auto shutdown, etc.

Nice to meet you @Shanling ! Btw M0 is smaller than it looks its.... Nano size. Wow

Nice to meet you! Now I can start adding faces to nicknames

Shanling is a white guy?! I thought he was Chinese. Isn't Shanling a Chinese company?

Shanling is Chinese company, I'm only non-Chinese person in here. I'm originally from Czech Republic. Call me Frankie.

was trying it today at CanJam singapore. what a tiny device. Still delivers 80mW power and has an output impedance of 0.7 Ohms.
AptX still only sending there is no hardware solution to deliver sending and receiving and not enough space in the device for putting in 2 bluetooth chips.
Toucscreen works surprisingly great for such a small screen. Sound was very clear to me, closer to M3s than to M2s I would say.

And it is really tiny, here is a comparison to M2s and M1

Just one small correction, output impedance is just 0.17 ohm, not 0.7

Now, picture time!!

Not likely, we plan to have it release to market at end of April.

Can we pre-order? Surely, there has to be some way I can leave you a large amount of cash in untraceable dollar bills in a brown paper envelope....?

You can always reach out to your local distributor and see, what they can offer for you. When Jaben saw such a huge interest into M0, they started taking preorders on spot.
