Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

BT receiver mode is limited to AAC as of v1.5.

Yeah, I remember it was mentioned already, but was just confused why that other guy thought he had LDAC receiver connection. He probably assumed it by mistake.

Just purchased my purple gem with brown leather case..love the colour combi!!
Streaming spotify through LDAC from my Huawei P20 Pro. Compared to my previous Sabaj DA2 setup, the m0 is more musical and has greater depth. Treble sparkle without harshness, mids are lush and sweet sounding, bass has good presence (bass is tighter on the DA2) and m0 has better instrument separation and sound stage.

LDAC receiver is not implemented yet in firmware 1.5. Can you check developers settings to see, which codec is actually used on your phone?

On HD files, it seems to cut out every few minutes.

I’ll try connecting a dummy load to the headphone output...

Yes, FLAC (from HDTracks).

My SD card is a 200GB SanDisk.

Are you still talking about USB out problem I addressed in my previous post? The one that will be fixed in next firmware?

Mine is in FAT32 and I too have this issue.

As I said, it's problem of USB out and next firmware is fixing it.

I hear quite a bit of 'popping' when I skip forward tracks.

Edit: when I pause and start tracks too. Its quite noticeable.

Only listened through Sen MM 550's so far.

Edit 2: I know you are headphones guys but I also hear it through my Ruark MR1's and when played through a BT receiver hooked up to my Arcam A29 into Kef LS50's .

Its definitely the player making the popping sounds.

Firmware is 1.5.

Will look into this problem while playing Bluetooth.

That's what I thought as well, but read my reply to @r3nren along with a few follow up posts. He has a phone supporting LDAC and was able to pair it up with M0 to stream Spotify from a phone. While, I'm trying to pair it up with WM1Z dap which supports LDAC, and can't get it to work, unless there is a special trick to force M0 into LDAC receiver mode? @r3nren how did you pair up M0 to your phone? What did you set in M0 to find it from your phone? Are you on fw1.50 or have beta 1.52?

As I said previously, there is some problem with Sony players, because their BT is set up so strangely, it only shows BT headphones/speakers and not all other BT devices, like phones and portable players.

Pardon me if this has already been asked but is the Bluetooth profile on the M0 AptX or AptX-HD? If it is just standard AptX can it be upgraded to AptX-HD with a firmware update?
Thanks in advance!

It's standard aptX. I was told by our engineers, that for aptX HD we would need to add some hardware part inside, so no firmware update can bring it to M0 :frowning2:
Why it's listed on Qualcomm website as HD? probably just some mistake.

How does the M0 handle .cue sheets in folder browsing? Do the music file and the .cue file need to have the same names? Do individual tracks show? Also, what if there are more than one .cue file in the folder?

Anyone?

As these digital filters mostly affect the higher frequencies, I hear little difference between them. Probably a combination of my hearing and the treble response of my IEM's, most of which exhibit some roll off at the highest frequencies.

I noticed it messed up 2 parts where the album name had symbols and had Chinese characters, mainly I noticed the 's in (what's the story?) and also this <|°_°|> so that the <| Chinese characters>, so basically just some symbols and stuff but everything else seems to be fine for now.

Can anyone give a brief description/differences of the digital filters available on the M0?

Well, you can search for any of the hundreds articles about digital filters in Audio. It's really long read and as always, different sides will have different view. You can start here for example: http://archimago.blogspot.com/2016/07/musings-digital-interpolation-filters.html

My advise, listen to different filters and choose which one you like the most. And if you don't hear the difference, you can let it out of your mind. I will just say, our stock filter is the "Minimum Slow".

Can you please send me in PM text of these files to test? Thanks
