Setup good enough for Ortofon 2m Black?

Hi.
I´ve got the Project debut carbon with the 2m Red it came with and find the sound overall fine, but i listen 
allmost only to classic rock/rock from 70-90 and after searching for a cart to replace this one I found there is´nt alot
of compatable choises for the light arm on the project, please corect me if you have some wisdom about a good sounding rock cart for a project.
 
So Im leaning towards getting the Black, now to the cuestion I started with.
My setup is as follows.
 
TT- Project debut carbon
Amp- Marantz 2230
Headphone amp- Little dot 1
Headphones- Grado sr 325e

Have you thought about getting the acrylic platter instead, as some say that improves the sound? Do a search on the internet for reviews, because I've seen some positive comments on that. If you do, get the right size as there are 2.
