I have been reading reviews and opinions a lot on Head-Fi and elsewhere after deciding to upgrade my current headphones, but haven't found much information regarding what headphones work best with the Echo Indigo IO (or DJ) soundcard.
Does anyone have any opinion on what pair of open headphones (around $200, give or take $50) would be best to use with the Indigo IO? I realize this is extremely subjective, but I am mainly looking for a pair of headphones that has extremely detailed and accurate reproduction of sound.
My main concern is purchasing a pair of phones like the AKG K701's (high impedance) that won't be provided enough power from the Echo Indigo. However, I've also read that the Echo Indigo actually works best with higher impedance headphones. . .I'm somewhat confused.
Right now, I am leaning toward purchasing a pair of headphones like the Sennheiser HD-595, but wanted to make sure a lower impedance phone would match best with the Echo Indigo IO. I'm not planning on buying an amp because the Echo Indigo IO/DJ has a built-in amplifier. However, I may decide to build one in the future if it'll improve my sound quality a lot.
I really appreciate any input that could be provided, and I also apologize if this has been discussed somewhere else (I couldn't find much written on the topic on Head-Fi).
Thanks.
