Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Of course I have a tracking number. It has not been updated since the 27th of the Dec. I contacted with Massdrop also. I begged them to use another shipping company like usps, ups, fedex and I've added that I am willing to pay extra.

But no, DHL again ... I envy the people whose package arrived that early. Enjoy !

Exactly the same. Stuck in the same place in Germany since 27 and before that it has been rotating for a week in Germany across 3 distribution centers as well. No idea what's happening, just hope it isn't lost or damaged. It's been a month already.

^We're listening.  Thanks for your patience.  Improvement plans in 2017...

When we have to pay import fees, DHL does it very poorly. They pass the parcel to some company that is awful. My tracking said I was notified and I was not notified. If I had not found out online what to do, there is a very good chance, that by the time I was notified if I was, the headphones could have been sent back. So yes, screw DHL by never using them again.

DHL Global Mail works like that, they take the package to your country, from there it's in hands of your country public mail service. Try to follow the tracking number under the title "Delivery by Postal provider" in the DHL web tracking.

Yeah DHL sucks, even if they ship within the US.  Fedex Smartpost was ever so slightly better.  But not by much.

Regarding HD650 discontinuation, SonicElectronix also lists the HD650 as discontinued.

Interestingly, the HD600 is also discontinued.

Two retailers stating the discontinuation of the HD650.  I smell a refresh in the works.

Good find. Could very well be that we got the last of these in the Massdrop deal. Even better for those with low serial numbers I guess. Depends on where this goes.

@CEE TEE

If you're still listening, I would like to suggest that you get rid of FedEx Smartpost for shipments to Hawaii.  Packages first have to catch a slow train from NJ to the west coast, then the package waits to catch a barge to Hawaii. C'mon man, a barge?

It would be nice to at least have the option of choosing an alternative shipping method.  I'd be happy with plain ol' USPS.

Thx.

could anyone recommend a longer cable for the HD6XX or a 3.5mm/1/4inch extension that is decent quality

The obvious choice is the HD650 cable.

I think all of us who are outside the US need to tell Massdrop to drop DHL.

I'm outside the US and DHL is 10 times better than USPS. USPS is a joke internationally where I'm at (within EU), if they wanna go with UPS (edit: or FedEx) instead then fine but let's not speak for "all of us" when your experience is not the same as "all of us".

If you can wait, Massdrop/Sennheiser will handle the short cable issue eventually:

If you're impatient, this can hold you over until then:

Anything cheaper that is $40 without shipping included

Give it a few days, maybe a week or two, and the price ought to come down. I bought mine from that same link on Amazon for $22, free shipping, just a few weeks ago. It looks like their main Sennheiser seller is out of stock, currently. It will restock, and come done in price... I believe. :xf_eek:

PS. What do you keep doing to your quotes? Stop that! Bad Head-Fi'er!

"We will exchange the cable if you need a longer one. As a fast solution I can offer HD 650 cables (length is 9.84 ft.) because we have some of them on stock. The 6 ft. version will take longer as we have to produce them first. I have no confirmation from our cable supplier yet, but I guess it will February or March until we have it.

I am very sorry and I apologize for this.

Oh, excellent. I didn't think to check their official site. I get free 2-day shipping with my Amazon Prime, so I buy lots of stuff from there. But that's a solid alternative.
