Don't know if anyone can cover this or has some more info on it but I had a quick chat today with the dutch representative from Sennheiser about our stock and I asked him if he knew anything about a hd700 coming out in the future or so. He said he didn't know anything about that BUT that they are working on a new electrostat!
He couldn't tell me at what stage of the process they were and for when this was planned to come out. He said that "it had to be 200 percent perfect before they were allowing it to come out to the market" that kinda blahstuff.
Unfortunately he came at a busy time so couldn't talk long to him..so...maybe someone here is able to confirm this...?

Sure, it won't be called the HD700, it will be like no other headphone you've seen, and it will be expensive. That is all.

I've seen electrostatic headphones, so obviously this one can't be an electrostat.

Great! Then its more or less verified.
I am certainly not the only one waiting for the next Sennheiser electrostatic headphone...

Can't wait!

$15,000 if I remember correctly. $7,500 for the HE90, and $7500 for the HEV90..

"like no other headphone i've seen"?

Color me skeptical. How many years has it been since sennheiser did something new?

Well in that case its a Piezzo/Plasma hybrid? Sennheiser PP1!

If it is too expensive, most of us will not be able to afford it, though.

(Thinks about how he is going to graduate in the next 2 years...thinks about that his direction of study involves later on having a juicy paycheck...)

Ya, most of you won't be able to afford it probably
