Yes, I know Cardas makes sennheiser connectors for high-falutin re-cable jobs.

I'm a cheap bastard. I'm just interested in buying some nice HD650 cables and using them on lesser 'phones.

Anybody know if there's a socket out there that fits the sennheiser plugs? I'm figuring i could just epoxy some sockets into the earcups of some old cans with really annoying coiled cables and use nice HD650 cables.

if you're going to go to that effort why not use a more commonly available 2.5mm plug?

well seeing how there's bugger all in the way of commercially available plugs I think the sockets will be equally rare. You are making a fuss over 10 minutes work. Compared to getting a plug into a headphone the cable will pass in a matter of seconds.
